Re: How are the Skunks? From before dawn to twilight..
As I drove to work this morn in the twilight hours, I was treated to the Full Moon. Octobers Full Moon is called the 'Full Hunters Moon'. I could see in my rear view mirror the first faint pink of the coming sunrise in these pre dawn hours. As I crossed the bridge over the bay the moon was shining on the water. I was listening to the radio to a easy listening station that plays things from the 30's and up. They play stuff like the Mills Brothers, Dean martin, Roger Whittaker, Andy Williams, Herb Albert, Frank Sinatra and such. So it was the very nice combination of these things that always throws me back to my childhood and thoughts of all my elder family members but one who are gone now.
As I was not to come Home till after sunset I got to see it all again in reverse. The oh so bright full moon low in the sky, shining on the bay again as it had this morning. Al Martino and Perry Como were coming from the radio. It was cold outside and I had a cup of coffee from my thermos close by and a fine cheap cigar.
At a red light the car next to me motioned and it was a man in uniform. He wanted to know how to get to our Air Force Base. I said "Stay on this road about 10 miles". I got Home and could hear the high school football game a few blocks from my Home. It was cold enough outside for a windbreaker or long sleeves. I had a new can of coffee and some pumpkin pie cremora so I came inside, pet the dogs and put on a cup of joe. I love this time of year. September through December make the rest of the dreary year worth while.
Re: How are the Skunks? Black cats made from painted paper plates,
Bats made from painted paper towel cores....
Coloured leaves glistening in the pouring rain, taking a ride on the windshield.
Time to set the temperature for the house heat and look for the winter jacket and turtlenecks....
Planning for trick-or-treating....
