sad news
I've just read on Ringo forum that our friend Rojo is dead.
Here is the message:
quote: Ronnie passed away on March 9, after a 2 year bout with leukemia.
He was buried in Rockwall on March12. I'm just getting around trying to make things as normal as possible.

Re: sad news
your memory will live forever ronald jo
you leave this world a better place from having being here.....i got this from rojo on 2-25
Subject: its past and gone
Message: Of course I remember Timmy. How old is he now? Great to hear the wife and kids are doing well. Mitzi Jo and all of my "snapperheads" are doing well.
I just returned from a college class regarding the JFK assassination. It is taught by Ernst Brandt. He was 15 feet away from Kennedy when the first shot was fired. You can see him in the Zapruder film. He wears the same hat he was wearing to class that he was wearing when JFK was shot. I met him at the 40th in Dealey Plaza. Seemed like a nice man then and I was correct. He was sitting on the side of the street surrounded by kids and me, Mitzi Jo and Fred Wesley (my youngest son) approached him. Fred Wesley asked him a bunch of questions and he had stills from the Zapruder film blown up. I then went and met him and then he was asked to do an interview. He's 74 but as sharp as a tack. He pulled Fred in during the interview. I was behind Ernst and Fred (not wanting to be in the video so I turned my head and listened to his answers). This guy is a waliking encylopedia regarding the JFK assassination. At Dealey Plaza I asked him how many shots he heard. A definite "3". Where were the shots from: Texas School Book Depository. Who was the assassin? Oswald. Tonight in class, I gave my little theory as why people would rush to the "grassy knoll". I told him it was the only way to see where the motocade was heading (Parkland Hospital). He said he never had thought of that. To me, if you THINK shots are coming from a certain area, you damn sure wouldn't run toward gunfire. We have lone gunman theorist in the class and conspiracy buffs. Doesn't bother me. I've been convinced Oswald did it alone for many years. Just my opinion, but a conspiracy of that proportions couldn't be kept a secret. Way too big.
You had me worried a little. You almost sounded depressed or resigned but under the circumstances who wouldn't be. just glad your OK as well as the family.
Ernst Brandt has his own website and I'll get it for you if you want to check it out.
Take Care my friend. Ronnie Joe
......so at least he made peace with us b4 he left us.i wondered about the sudden about face.now i know.....he swore sam off b4 the end though...
peace be your cross rojo by see you in the next world buddy

Re: sad news
I wanted rojo to come over an hang wif us,an he did in the end,...I am glad he did,I did have a couple of nice aol IM chats wif him, they were good an fun...he could type up a storm,...I am gonna dig up racheal's email an let her know..I remember they were buds...like all people its easy to point out bad things they do,(myself included)but its easyier to point out the good things too,an we should try to always forgive an move on,..not easy to do that, but we should try,but it was easy to see rojo made a solid effort to get back in our good gracies,so I aplaud him, thanks rojo..rip old friend you will be missed,...this an offical moondog/musketeer salute...

Re: sad news
At least he got to see and hold his grandchild. Know that was a big highlight of his life.
Looked for the obit but in the quick search, was not able to locate it on line. Guess the good memories and Rojo's known achievements, kindnesses, and asperations will have to suffice for now.
With thoughts and prayers for him and Mitzi and all the family and friends.
