Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End Script.
[Disclaimer: All rights are to Disney, Jerry Bruckinheimer, Ted and Terry, the cast and crew, and anyone else I forgot to mention! I don't own anything. I am not perfect, if I make mistakes, tell me, and I will correct them.]
[Camera comes up on a noose, as soldiers play drums]
Officer: In order to end deteriarating conditions, and to ensure the comman good, a state of emergency is declared for these teretories. By degree of Lord Cutler Beckett, duly appointed representative of his majasty the king, by degree, according to martial law, the folowing statues are temporarily ammended: Right to assembly....suspended. [Hangman pulls lever, people fall] Right to havbeus corpus...suspended [Hangman pulls lever again] Right to legal council...suspended. [again} Right to be judged by a jury....suspended [again] by degree, all persons found guilty of piracy, or any person convicted of piracy, or assosiating with a person convicted of piracy, shall be sentanced to hang by the neck..until dead.
[Another group of criminals walk up to the gallows, a young boy among them, he begins to sing, while holding a piece of eight in his hand.]
Boy:
The king and his men
Stole the queen from her bed.
And bound her in her bones.
The sea be ours
And by the powers
Where we will,
We'll roam.
[Hangman slams down a barrel, lifting the boy on top of it so he can reach the noose]
Man: [joins in softly]:
Yo Ho, all hands
Hoist the coulors high
All pirates:
Heave ho, theives and beggars
Never shall we die.
[clangs chains]
Yo Ho, haul together
Hoist the coulors high
[while they sing] Officer: Lord Beckett! They've started to sing, Sir.
Beckett: Finally.....
Pirates:
Heave ho, theives and beggers,
[boy joins in]
Never shall we die [hangman pulls lever, they fall]
[title appears on screen, comes up on Elizabeth swann, dressed as a singaporian, in a small boat, rowing as she sings,]
Elizabeth:
Some have died,
And some are alive
And others sail on the sea
With the keys to the cage
And the devil to pay
We lay to Fiddler's Green.
The Bell has been raised
From it's watery grave
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
A Call to all, pay heed the squall
And turn your sails towards home!
Yo, Ho haul together hoist the colours high
Heave ho-
Tai Quan: Thieves and beggars! Never shall we die! [speaks] A dangerous song to be singing. For anyone ignorant of it's meaning. Particurly a woman, Particurly a woman alone.
Barbossa:[Emerges from stairs] What makes you think she's alone?
Tai Quan: You protect her?
Elizabeth: [grabs him, putting a knife to his neck.] What makes you think I need protecting?
Barbossa: Your master's expectin' us. An an unexpected death would pause a slight call on our meeting.
[another man speaks singaporian, shows royal navy. Camera pans to the water, where Gibbs, Cotton,Marty, Pintel, and Ragetti are hiding with extra weapons, wagon wheel screeches, tia dalma is hiding behind it with Jack the monkey, and cottons parrot, Gibbs see's them]
Gibbs: Alright. [starts sawing through bars, camera pans back to Barbossa, Elizabeth, and the men]
Elizabeth: Have you heard anything from Will?
Barbossa: He took his own path to aqquire the charts, and you just worry about keeping your place in the presence of Sao Fang.
Elizabeth: Is he that terrifying?
Barbossa: He's much like myself. But absent my merciful nature and sense of fair play.
Tai Quan: [knocks on door] Hoi! [door opens, showing inside Sao Fangs home. They walk in, camera pans back to Gibbs and the crew, he saws through]
Gibbs: We're through! [they climb through underground, rats squeak, bats fly. Camera pans back to Elizabeth and Barbossa, who are giving up their weapons, they start to walk forward, but the man stops them]
Tai Quan: Did you think becuase she is a woman we would not suspect her of treatury?
Barbossa: Well...when you put it that way..
Tai Quan: Remove...please.[Elizabeth takes off hat, and jacket, revealing concealed weapons, she lays them on the table. Elizabeth shrugs, then tries to move forward, the man stops her again.] Remove..please. [they walk further in, elizabeth pulls her shirt down, sao fang is shown, with steam around him.Barbossa bows, motions for Elizabeth to do the same, she bows]
Sao Fang: Captain Barbossa...welcome to Singapore. [smells of cloth in hand, looks to maid beside him] More steam. [she pulls a rope, camera pans to underground, where a man pulls another rope, bringing up more steam, ragetti sees the man and tries to run.]
Gibbs: [whispering] None of that! If things don't go the way we plan then we're the only chance they've got!
[camera pans back to sao fang]
Sao Fang: I understand you have a request to make of me.
Barbossa: More of a..proposal to put it. I've a venture underway, and I find myself in need of a ship and a crew.
Sao Fang: [scratches head] Hmm...it is an odd coincidence
Elizabeth: Because you happen to have a ship and a crew you don't need?
Sao Fang: No. Because earlier this day, not far from here, a thief broke into my most revered uncle's temple and tried to make off with these. [holds up charts] The navigational charts that lead to the farthest gate. [throws them to the Tai Quan, who is behind Barbossa and Elizabeth] Wouldn't it be amazing..if this venture of yours took you to the world beyond this one?
Barbossa: It would strain crudulity at that. [Sao Fang nods, men bring Will Turner up out of the water, his hands are bound on a limb behind his neck. He gasps for air.]
Sao Fang: This is the theif. Is this face familiar to you? [Elizabeth and Barbossa shake their heads no] Then I guess, there is no further need for him. [pulls out weapon as if to kill him, Elizabeth shreiks and covers her mouth.] You come into my city, and you betray my hospitality.
Barbossa: Sao Fang I assure you, I had no idea..
Sao Fang: That he would get caught! You attempt to take a voyage to Davy Jones' Locker. But I cannot help but wonder...why? [Barbossa tosses him a piece of eight, Sao Fang blows on it, and puts it to his ear.]
Barbossa: The song has been sung. The time is upon us. We must convine the Brethren Court. As one of the nine pirate lords, you must honor the call.
Sao Fang: More steam. [Maid pulls the rope, nothing happens] More steam! [she pulls it again, cotton pulls the other rope, camera pans over to the large man, with Marty sitting on top of him.] There are suffice on all our ends, it is true, but it seems, the only way a pirate can find his place in the world anymore, is by betraying other pirates. [camera pans over to will, then to Gibbs and then mane, unrapping weapons.]
Gibbs: Wait for the signal. [Barbossa can be heard talking in the distance. Ragetti giggles as he looks up Elizabeth's dress]
Sao Fang: Against the East India Trading Company, what value is the Brethren Court? What can any of us do?
Elizabeth: [steps forward] You can fight! [man grabs her, she shakes him off] Get off me! You are Sao Fang, the pirate lord of Singapore. You lived in a world where pirates sailed free waters...[Pintel looks up, expecting to see Elizabeth, but sees a large man instead.] Would you have that pass to become legend? Would you have that era come to an end on your watch? The most notorious pirates are uniting against our enemy. And yet you sit here, cowering in your bath water!
Sao Fang: Elizabeth Swann, there is more to you then meets the eye isn't there..[circles her] [seductivly]And the eye...does not go wanting... [Camera pans to Will, who's trying to get free, and is clearly uncomfortable with the way Sao Fang is speaking to Elizabeth] But I can not help but notice, you have failed to answer my question. What is it you seek in Davy Jones Locker?
Will: Jack Sparrow. [Woman giggles] He's one of the pirate lords.
Sao Fang: [has an angry look, brings hand to head.] The only reason, I would want Jack Sparrow returned from the land of the dead, is so I can send him back myself! [kicks over table]
Barbossa: Jack Sparrow holds one of the nine pieces of eight. He failed to pass it along to a sucsessor before he died. So we must go and get him back. [Sao Fang looks over, seeing a man, the ink is running on his tattoo]
Sao Fang: So.. you admit, you have decieved me? [draws sword] Weapons!
[Camera pans below ground]
Gibbs: Weapons!
[back above ground]
Barbossa: Sao Fang I assure you, our intentions are strictly honorable.
[The crew slides four swords up between the wooden planks of the floor, Barbossa and Elizabeth catch two each]
Sao Fang: [grabs man, puts sword to his neck] Drop your weapons! Or I kill the man!
Barbossa: [looks around confused] Kill him, he's not our man!
Will: If he's not with you, and he's not with us...who's he with?
[Royal Navy busts in.]

[Fighting occurs between Royal Navy, Sao Fang and his men, and Barbossa, Elizabeth, and Will. Will unties himself]
Elizabeth: Will! [tosses him a sword. Mercer comes in, points his gun at Elizabeth, Will pushes her out of the way, the bullet hits one of sao fang's maids. The other maid looks up angry. Marty lights a bomb, that blows up under a group of royal navy officers.]
Sao Fang: Go! [holds up sword and runs forward, Will and Elizabeth follow] Charts! [Tai Quan tosses them to him]
Gibbs: [runs out with the rest of the crew] Come on lads! [Marty shoots, and is throw backwards by the power of the gun, Camera pans around to Will, Elizabeth, and Barbossa, showing them fighting, then Cotton pops up out of a barrel, shooting someone, the Royal Navy lines up, Tia Dalma appears, with a contraption, it blows up, seperating the Royal Navy line, she grins. Mercer shoots woman, Sao Fang slams Will up against a building]
Sao Fang:It is an odd coincidence isn't it,the East India Trading Company finds me the day you show up in Singapore?
Will: It is coincidence only. [Brings knife up against Sao Fangs neck, Mercer aims a gun at them from where he is hiding behind Will] If you want to make a deal with Beckett, you need what I offer. [Mercer lowers his gun as he hears Will speak]
Sao Fang: You cross Barbossa, you're willing to cross Jack Sparrow? Why should I expect any better?
Will: I need the Black Pearl to free my father. [lowers knife] You're helping me to get it.
[Camera pans over to Jack the Monkey, who's lighting a firework]
Cotton's Parrot: [squaks] Uh oh
[The firework takes off, landing in a room full of fireworks, making them all explode, the parrot squaks] Fire in the hole! [Jack the monkey plugs his ears, the fireworks kill the man Barbossa is fighting.]
Barbossa: Thank ya Jack.
Cottons Parrot: [Squaks] Thank ya Jack.
[Will emerges with the charts]
Barbossa: Ye have the charts?
Will: And better yet, [tosses charts to Barbossa] a ship and a crew.
Elizabeth: Where's Sao Fang?
Will: He'll cover our escape and meet us at Shipwreck Cove.
Tai Quan: Come on, let's go. [runs ahead with his crew, Barbossa, Elizabeth, and Will follow]
[Camera pans to ship, where evreyone is aboard, closeup on Tia Dalma and Elizabeth]
Elizabeth: There's no place left for Sao Fang to cower. Do you think he will honor the call?
Tia Dalma: I can not say. There's an evil on these seas that even the most starch and bloodthirsty pirates have come to fear.
[Camera pans to where the Flying Dutchman is emerging from underwater. Cannons emerge, and fire on two other ships, killing all aboard, and destroying the ships.]
[Camera pans to a table, where toy ships are set on a map, being moved my a stick. Camera pans over to the chest,toy soldiers lined up on the map, with a piece of eight spinning, Beckett slams his hand down on it to stop it]
Beckett: A piece of eight. Nine of them you say?
Mercer: Our new friend in Singapore was very specific Sir. Nine pieces of eight.
Beckett: What's the signifigance of that I wonder?
Mercer: Does it matter? There's not that can face the Armada. Not with the Flying Dutchman in the lead.
Beckett: Nothing we know of. Did your friend happen to mention where the Brethren Court are meeting?
Mercer: He was mum on that sir.
Beckett: Then he knows the value of information. Better keep this between ourselves. We don't want anyone running off to Singapore do we? [Govenor Swann is shown in the background, signing papers, Mercer glances at him. Beckett see's Norrington] Ah, Admiral.
Norrington: You summoned me Lord Beckett.
Beckett: Yes, something for you there. [Norrington turns to look] A new station deserves an old friend. [Norrington walks over, opening the case, seeing the sword Will made for him, he runs his fingers over it, while Beckett twists the coin in his hand, man hands Gov. Swann more papers]
Swann: Not more requisition orders?
Man: No Sir, execution. [Swann looks up at Norrington, as Norrington lifts the sword out of it's sheath.]
Beckett: The Brethren know they face extinction. All that remians is for them to decide where they'll make their final stand. [Norrington and Swann look worried]
[Camera pans to ship on water, surronded by snowy covered mountains, snow is falling. Closeup of Jack the monkey shivering, then over to Pintel and Ragetti]
Pintel: No one said anything about cold.
Ragetti: I'm sure there must be a good reason for our suffering.
Pintel: Why don't that O bay woman just bring Jack back the same way she brought back Barbossa?
Tia Dalma: Because Barbossa was only dead. Jack Sparrow is taken, body and soul, to a place, not of death, but punishment. The worst fate a person can bring upon himself. Stretching on forever. That's what awaits at Davy Jones Locker.
Ragetti: See...I knew there was a good reason.
[Singaporian man shivers, and touches his toe, which breaks completley off from frostbite. Will is looking at charts]
Will: Nothing here is set. These can't be as accurate as modern charts.
Tai Quan: No, but it leads to more places.
Will: [turns charts, reads] Over the edge, over again. Sunrise sets, flash of green. [walks to Barbossa] Do you care to interpret? Captain Barbossa?
Barbossa: Ever gazed upon the green flash Master Gibbs?
Gibbs: I reckon I've seen my fair share. Happens on rare occasion, at the last glimpse of sunset, a green flash shoots up into the sky. Some go thier whole lives with out ever seeing it. Some claim to have seen it who aint. And some say-
Pintel: It signals when a soul comes back to this world...from the dead! [Gibbs glares at him, scoffs] Sorry...
Barbossa: [hading Will the charts] Trust me young Master Turner, it's not getting to the land of the dead that's the problem. It's getting back. [ship goes between two mountains]

[Camera pans over,showing mercer and beckett, looking through the telescope at a ruined ship]
Beckett: Bloody hell, there's nothing left.
Mercer: Jones is a loose cannon sir.
Beckett: Fetch the chest.
Mercer: And the govenor? He's been asking questions about the heart.
Beckett: Does he know? [Mercer does not answer] Then perhaps his usefullness has run it's course. [Mercer nods, Camera pans over, to a pirate flag in the water, then to Swann, covering his mouth with a tissue as they row out to sea in a rowboat. Camera pans to Davy Jones, playing the Organ, stops when he hears the lullaby from the music box. His face turns sad as the music stops, he wipes a tear away and yells. Camera pans over to Royal Navy running onto the Flying Dutchman]
Norrington: [to Murtogg and Mullroy] Steady Men.
[Davy Jones pushes through the crowd, and sees the chest]
Davy Jones: Go! All of you! And take that infernal thing with you. I will not have it on my ship!
Beckett: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Because I will. Because it seems to be the only way to ensure that this ship do as commanded by the company. [Motions for Norrington to leave, he does] We need prisoners to interrogate. Which tends to work best when they're alive.
Davy Jones: The Dutchman sails as it's captain commands.
Beckett: And it's captain is to sail it as commanded! [Davy's crew murmers, Beckett moved in closer, whispering] I would have thought you learned that when I ordered you to kill your pet. [Jones looks down] This is no longer your world Jones. The immaterial has become immaterial.
Officer: Guard the chest! [men point guns towards the heart, closeup of the beating heart]
[Camera pans to stars reflected in the water, with Barbossa's ship sailing, closeup of Elizabeth, with Will walking up behind her.]
Will: How long are we going to continue not talking?
Elizabeth: [looks down] Once we rescue Jack evreything will be fine.
Will: [hurt] When we rescue Jack? [Will avoids her eyes, and looks down, Elizabeth turns and walks past him, Will walks farther on deck, sees they are lost, he turns around quickly when he hears someone behind him.]
Tia Dalma: For what we want most, there is a cost that must be paid in the end.
[Will sees the locket around her neck, and runs past her to Barbossa]
Will: Barbossa! Ahead!
Barbossa: Aye! We're good and lost now!
Elizabeth: [in disbelief] Lost?!
Barbossa: For certin you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found. Elseways evreyone would know where it was.
Gibbs: [looks over the side] We're gaining speed!
Barbossa: Aye! [nods exitedly]
Will: [takes over] To stations! [crew hustles about] All hands to stations! Run aport! Gather away!
Barbossa: Ney! Belay that! Let her run straight and true!
Ragetti: Blimey... [crew sees they are about to go over a waterfall]
Elizabeth.[turns to barbossa] You've doomed us all!
Barbossa: Don't be so unkind miss, you may not survive to pass this way again, and these be the last friendly words you'll hear. [squeezes her face in his hands, she jerks away]
Will: Tie her off! [Tia Dalma chants nervously and throws down clam claws]
Elizabeth: Hard to port!
Will : [tries to turn the wheel] Hold on!!
[Crew holds onto the side and yells as the ship goes over the water falls, Elizabeth screams, Barbossa laughs. Screen goes black...random sounds..]
Voice: Dead Men tell no tales...
[A nose appears on screen, sniffing along the banister of the ship, until it comes upon a peanut, the camera backs away, showing Jack Sparrow, tieing a napkin around his neck, and putting a fork into the peanut, just as he get it to his mouth, a gun shot goes off, and he drops the peanut. The camera pans over, showing another Jack Sparrow holding a gun, blows on it, walks over, picks up the peanut.]
Jack: My peanut. [eats it] All hands! Slack your braces! [Yells to replicants of himself, who are his crew]
Jack 2: Aye Captain! Slack your braces! Step Lively! With a will!
[Shows many Jacks, carrying water, cleaning the deck, etc, Jack 3 is lying by himself, unable to move]
Jack 3: Help.
Real Jack: Man the yards you filthy toads!
[Jack 4 lays an egg, and clucks like a chicken Jack 5 picks up the egg And walks off past Jack 6, who's sitting beside a goat. Little by little, he moves closer to the goat]
Jacks: Ho! Ho! Ho!
[Real Jack yells orders]
Real Jack: Mr. Sparrow?
Jack 7: Aye Captain?
Real Jack: What say you about the condition to this tackline?
Jack 7: It be proper to my eyes sir.
Real Jack: Proper? It is neither proper nor suitable sir, it is neither acceptable, nor adequate, it is in fact, an abomination.
Jack 7: Beggin your pardon sir, but perhaps if you gave a man another chance.
Real Jack: Shall I? [pulls out sword and stabs him, whispers in his ear] It's that sort of thinking that got us into this mess. [Jack 7 falls dead, Real Jack wipes off his sword as he speaks to the other Jacks] We have lost speed and therefore time. Precious time. That cannot be recovered once lost. Do you understand?
Jacks: Aye Captain!
Late Jack: Oh aye aye captain!
Real Jack: Do you now? It will all have to be redone! All of it! And let this serve as a lesson to all of you. [camera pans, to show he is hallucinating, and there is actually no one there] The duldrums has the entire crew on edge sir. I have no sypmathy for anyone of you feculent maggots. And no more patience to pretend otherwise. [Runs, hops onto banner] Gentlemen, I wash my hands of this weirdness. [Jumps from blackpearl, onto the desert sand of Davy Jones Locker, licks finger and holds it up.] No wind. Of course there's no bloody wind! My soul I do swear, here, it's ghastly weather. I need a tiny, minature lake. [sniffs, looks down, sees a rock, picks it up, and throws it, turns, walking, talking to himself] Why is it? Why would he do that? Well because he's a lumex isn't he?
Well we shall have a magnificent garden party, and you're not invited! Ha! [looks down, sees the same rock] Hmm.. [turns around to see if it's still there, picks it up] A rock. [licks it, makes a face, and throws it again,closeup of the rock, it sprouts legs, and claws to show it is a crab] Now we're being followed by rocks...never had that happen before. [looks up, sees a rope] Oh! A rope! [pulls on it, it falls, he attaches it, and tries to pull the black pearl. He sees the crab, and falls backwards, closeup of many crabs, orignal crab appears to be talking to them. Back to Jack, a shadow over his face, the crabs are moving the black pearl into the water. He chases after it]

[Camera pans to Barbossa and crew coughing up water on shore of Davy Jones Locker]
Gibbs: This truly is a God-forsaken place.
Elizabeth: I don't see Jack. I don't see anyone.
Barbossa: He's here. Davy Jones never once gave up that what he took.
Will: And does it matter? We're trapped here by you're doing, no diffrent than Jack.
[Jack the monkey chirps as he holds the charts, watching the crabs]
Tia Dalma: [pets a crab] Witty Jack, is closer than you think.
[Black Pearl appears, coming down the hill, with Jack aboard it.]
[Tia smiles, evreyone watches in amazement, Jack hops off the ship, once it's into the water]
Tai Quan: Impossible.
Ragetti: [points] B-boat.
Gibbs: Slap me thrice and hand me to me mamma. It's Jack! [runs over, Elizabeth starts to do the same, but then looks back at Will and stops]
Pintel: It's the Captain!
Ragetti: He's safe!
Jack: Mr. Gibbs!
Gibbe: Aye captain.
Jack: I expect your able to account for your actions?
Gibbs: Sir?
Jack:There's been a prepetial lack of discipline on my vessel..why? Why is that sir?
Gibbs: Sir, you're...[leans in] you're in Davy Jones Locker Captain.
Jack: I know that! I know where I am! And don't think I don't.
Barbossa: Jack Sparrow.
Jack: Ah! Hector! It's been to long...hasn't it?
Barbossa: Ah, yes, Isla De Muerta. Remember? You shot me.
Jack: [grins foolishly] No I didn't. [moves along] Tia Dalma! Out an about eh? You had an agreable sense of account to any delerium. [she smiles unsure of what he's saying]
Will: He thinks we're a hallucination.
Jack: William, tell me something. Have you come becuase you need my help saving a certin distressing damsel? Or rather...damsel in distress? Either way?
Will: No.
Jack: Well then you wouldn't be here, would you? So you can't be here. Q.E.D....you're not really here!
Elizabeth: Jack? [softly, caringly] This is real, we're here. [Jack points at her speechlessly, then moves away]
Jack: [walks to gibbs] The locker you say?
Gibbs: Aye.
Elizabeth: We've come to rescue you!
Jack: Have you now? That's very kind of you, but it would seem as I possess a ship, and you don't, you're the ones in need of rescuing, and I'm not sure as I'm in the mood.
Barbossa: I see my ship. Right there. [points at the pearl]
Jack: [looks out mockingly] Can't spot it. Must be a tiny little thing, hiding somewhere behind the Pearl.
Will: [stands beside Jack] Jack! Cutler Beckett has the heart of Davy Jones! He controls the Flying Dutchman.
Elizabeth: [stands behind Jack, grabbing his arm] He's taking over the see.
Tia Dalma: [stands to the other side] The song has already been sung! The Brethren Court is called!
Jack: Leave you people alone for just one minute and look what happens! Evreything's gone to pot!
Gibbs: Aye, Jack, the world needs you back something fierce.
Will: And you need a crew!
Jack: Why should I sail with any of you? Four of you've tried to kill me in the past. [to Elizabeth] one of you suceeded. [Will looks back at her surprised..Elizabeth tries to explain.] Oh, she hasn't told you? You'll have loads to talk about while you're here. [To Tia Dalma] As for you...
Tia Dalma: Now, don't tell me you didn't enjoy it at the time.
Jack: [grins, embarassed] Fair enough, alright,your in. [to Ragetti] Don't need you, you scare me. Gibbs, you can come. Marty..[skips over Pintel] Cotton...Cotton's parrot I'm a little iffy, but atleast I'll have someone to talk to. [sees Tai Quan and his men]
Tai Quan: I am Tai Quan. These are my men.
