Re: American Angel in London
Anne's POV
As I finished my song, I looked up, seeing Jeff and Lizzie in the soundbooth. I smiled, putting my headphones, and running in, scooping my little girl up in my arms.
"Oooh! Mommy's missed you so much!" I smiled, hugging her. I smiled at Jeff and leaned in, kissing him.
"Hey you." I smiled.
"Hey you. How was recording?"
"Fine. Thanks for picking her up." I said, hugging Lizzie close.
"It was no problem. I don't think Orlando was very happy about it thought."
I rolled my eyes. "He'll get used to it."
"If you say so. Are you ready to head home?"
"Yep." I grabbed my purse, and followed him out to the car. I smiled at Lizzie as she told me about evreything she'd done at Orlando's. In the months since the encounter at Sonia's house, many things had changed. Orlando and I had only seen each other for brief moments while dropping off, or picking up Lizzie at the airport. Orlando had finished in New Zeland, and was now filming a war movie in Africa. And his manager had called to let me know that he would be leaving for austrailia to film a movie about outlaws in a week. That was the relationship Orlando and I had now. We kept in touch through his manager.
Speaking of relationships...thought it's hard to believe, I had tried to stop anything from happenning with Jeff and I. It was too complicated..especially now. But it had happenned. He was just to sweet to resist. I smiled as he reached across the seat and took my hand. I felt a pang of guilt evreytime he did that. I cared for Jeff, but as hard as I tried, I knew I'd never feel for him the way I had for Orlando.

Re: American Angel in London
Awww... I really wish Anne would go back to be with Orlando
He is so sad without her and they almost never speak to each other.
These plane trips must be aweful on Lizzie as she is so young and needs both her mommy and daddy.
I think it's time for Anne to forgive Orlando and be with him.
By the way... when do you plan on up-dating The Secret? I love that fic too!

Re: American Angel in London
So there is still a void in Anne's life that Jeff can't replace...I hope she isn't going to string him along, even if their relationship is moving along.
At least the door is still cracked open for Orlando as long as they have to meet when Lizzie visits one or the other.

Re: American Angel in London
Anne's POV
That night after supper was finished, I washed the dishes, and cleaned up the kitchen. After I finished, I walked into the living room, seeing Lizzie asleep in Jeff's lap.
"I think she's jet lagged." He whispered with a soft laugh. I laughed, and leaned down, picking her up, and carrying her into her room. Jeff had his own place, not to far from mine, but most nights, he stayed with me. After putting Lizzie to bed, I walked back into the living room, sitting down beside him, and looking to the tv to see what he was watching.
"Sports, seriously? Don't you get enough of that at work?"
"Sports? There's never enough." he laughed.
I rolled my eyes playfully, snuggling up to him. He leaned down, and brushed his lips against mine. I smiled and kissed him back.
"Marry me." He whispered against my lips.
"W-what?" I said, pulling away. "Where did that come from?"
He sighed, pulling me back into his arms. "Calm down." He laughed. "That wasn't your cue to run Anne."
"Sorry."
"Don't apologize. I just....I know we've only been back together a couple months....but I've just waited so long to be back with you....sometimes I forget it's only been a few months."
I smiled softly, reaching up, and letting my thumb trace his facial features. Could I really marry him? I did love him. But enough to really give up on Orlando? My mind drifted back to Lizzie sleeping in his lap. He was so good with her. And....she needed some stability. Orlando's work was always crazy and diffrent, and Jeff going home evrey morning had to confuse her. Truthfully, I knew I wasn't ready to marry him, but I knew I needed to. I had to do it for her. The best thing for Lizzie would be for her parents to be together...but I was afraid Orlando would cheat again. I didn't want my daughter growing up to think that was what loving someone was about. I had no doubt. Jeff would never cheat.
"Okay."
"Like I said. I just get carried away and-"
"No. I mean...okay, I'll marry you."
He looked confused. "Really?"
I laughed. "Yes really! He leaned down and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck. Despite the circumstances, I was actually happy.
"I have a ring." He laughed. I ****ed my eyebrow. "It was from before. I got it the night you got your acceptance letter to Guildhall. Remember, I came to pick you up, and that's when you told me you were leaving, and you thought we should break up."
My mouth dropped. "You were going to propose?"
He nodded. "Would you have said yes?"
"Then....no." I said honestly. "I think that I had to get out of here. To...see other places, before I realized this was where I was meant to be." I said, choosing my words carefully.
"What do you think Orlando will say?" he said, speaking the question that was haunting my mind.
"I don't care." I lied. I see him glance towards Lizzie's room.
"You don't think he would-"
"No. Orlando would never take Lizzie away. Unless I was abusing her or something."
"Good. Because you'd be miserable without her. So would I. That kid lights up my life." He laughed.
I smiled. "Mine too." I glanced up at the clock. "We should get some sleep"
A week passed, and it was time to take Lizzie to Orlando. We landed in Austrailia at noon, and I had to hide a smile at seeing Orlando waiting on us....her, I mean. I had debated the whole flight on whether to remove my engament ring when I saw him or not, but finally decided it was pointless. He'd find out anyway. I offered a polite smile as we approached.
"Hey." He said with a nod.
"Hey." I responded, leaning down in front of Lizzie. "Give mommy a hug and a kiss okay?" I wrapped my arms around her, and then stood up, handing her bag to Orlando. The ring caught his eye, and he grabbed my hand. I pulled it back, sticking it in my jacket pocket.
"You're eng-"
"Kaaaate!" Lizzie yelled, and I turned just in time to see her run into the open arms of a blonde. 'Kate' hugged my daughter, and glanced up at my, offering the same polite smile I had given Orlando just moments before.
"Hi, I'm Kate" She said sweetly, and I almost felt bad for instantly hating her. I shook her hand.
"Anne." I responded.
"Oh I know!" She laughed "Lizzie talks about you nonstop."
"Funny. She's never mentioned you." I said, sending a glare Orlando's way.
Kate seemed at a loss for words. I snapped my self out of my jealous rage and smiled. "I should get going. My flight back leaves soon." I took my daughter, and kissed her cheek. "Be good for daddy okay?"
"Okay mommy." She said, as I sat her down.
"Kate? Will you get Lizzie settled in the car? I need to talk to Anne."
She smiled. "Um, sure."
"Come on, I'll walk you to your plane."
I sighed. "Okay.."
We started walking towards the terminal.
"Lizzie's birthday is this weekend."
I nodded.
"And, she's supposed to be with me..."
I nodded again.
"She wants you there. You've always been there for her birthday Anne. Is there anyway we can...peacefully co-exist for one day?"
I looked over at him. He was offering to let me come over for Lizzie's birthday.
I smiled, this time, a real smile. "Sure. I'd like that. It was killing me to miss her birthday."
"I figured. You can bring Jeff if you want."
"How did you know it was..."
"I may be stupid, but I'm not blind." He laughed.
"Right."
"Plus, Lizzie talks about him all the time."
"Oh."
"Kate's good to her. I wouldn't have anyone around that wasn't."
"I know Orlando." I nodded. "Jeff is-"
"I know. I don't want to but...I trust him."
"Thank you. I should...get going."
"Yeah. Have a safe flight."
I smiled. "Thanks." I turned to walk to the ticket line.
"Anne?"
"Yeah?" I turned around.
"Congratulations." He said, motioning to my ring with a soft smile.
I nodded. "Thanks. You too. She seems great."
He smiled. "She is." He said it in the way that wasn't rubbing it in my face...just...informing me. I smiled, and turned to get on my plane.

Re: American Angel in London
It appearsas if they are both moving on...but that they still have old feelings for each other.
The birthday party should be interesting with all four of them there!

Re: American Angel in London
Anne's POV
After much convincing at my end, Jeff flew with me to Australia that weekend for Lizzie's birthday. We landed at the airport, and I was getting ready to hail a cab, when I saw Kate. I smiled, and took Jeff's hand, walking over.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I laughed.
"I came to get you!"
"Orlando sent you?"
She nodded. "He's getting evreything sat up."
"Okay, Thsnks then! Well, Kate, this is my fiancee Jeff Downs .Jeff, this is Orlando's girlfriend Kate Bosworth." I said. Jeff extended his hand to shake hers, and then the three of us piled into Kate's car.
Kate's POV
Okay, I don't know one single person in the world who would want to be at the airport, picking up their boyfriend's ex. But, if I had to do it, I was glad it was Anne. I stopped by their hotel, and let them check in, then drove them to Orlando's. We got out, and Lizzie ran out of the house, and into her mother's waiting arms. Orlando followed her, in an apron, smeared with barb-e-que sauce, and leaned in, hugging Anne.
"Do you ever feel like an outsider?" I asked Jeff.
"What do you mean?"
"Like no matter how hard you try, you'll never match up to what they had with each other. Do you ever feel like that?"
"Evrey day." He admitted. I turned and gave a sympathetic smile.
"Good. Then I'm not alone." I laughed, walking into the house with him.
Anne's POV
As I stepped out of the car, I seen Lizzie run out.
"Mommy!" She squealed, running towards me. I scooped her up into my arms, showering her face with kisses.
"Ah! I've missed you to much!" I laughed. I looked up to see Orlando walking out. Despite my best efforts, when he leaned in, and hugged me, my heart rate sped up.
"So peacefully co-existing includes hugging now?"
"Sorry." He pulled away, looking down.
"Don't be." I said, situating Lizzie on my hip. "Can I help with anything?"
"No, you're a guest." He smiled. "Head on inside. I think Lizzie wants you to see her room."
"Alright Lizzie Bee. Lead the way." I said, sitting her down, and taking her hand, following her through the house.
Orlando's POV
I leaned against the wall, watching her dissapeer into the car. The smallest part of me hoped she might be jealous of Kate, but just to my luck...or perhaps it was karma, they seemed to be getting along famously. A few minutes later, I looked over, seeing Jeff. He had Lizzie on his hip, and his free arm around Anne's waist, whispering something in her ear. He deserved her, he was good to her. To both of them. Still, I couldn't get over the fact he was holding my kid, and was going to marrymy girl.
