Re: The Secret
Breana's POV
"Come on....please?" Orlando said, following me into the laundry room.
"No!" I laughed, folding towels.
"Why?!" He retorted, helping me.
"Because, you haven't had any time alone with the girls since I moved in!"
"So? They love having you around! Ask them who they'd rather go with. Just me, or both of us."
"Orlando! I can't. I have to stay here and makes sure no one knows you left town so you aren't followed by paps. That's my job."
"And as your boss, I'm giving you the week off to spend with your family."
I turned to him, looking at him quizically. True, I'd gotten along with Orlando and the kids wonderfully for the past month, but I didn't consider myself part of his family.
The police had arrested Carl, and I of course, had insisted I move back into my apartment, but Orlando had vetoed that idea, telling her the girls woul miss her too much if she moved out. And of course, he'd suckered her right into saying. She'd absolutley fallen in love with his girls. Holly and Mandy were amazing kids, they weren't hard to get attached too. Orlando must have picked up on my long silence.
"I know you have this thing where the mention of family or getting close to someone, or being friends tends to make you want to run in the other direction. And I can't say I blame you, seeing what you've been through. But you are part of this family. As disfunctional and diffrent as we are, we're still a family."
I looked over at him and smiled. "I'm not running in the other direction Orlando. I was just thinking. Don't worry." I grabbed the towels, and put them in the bathrooms.
"You don't have to do that you know. We have a maid." He said, standing in the doorway of the girls bathroom.
"I know. But I like doing it." I said, walking past him, into my room.
"So will you go!" He said, walking in after me.
"If you'll stop following me around!" I laughed.
"Really?!"
"Yes, I'll go to hawaii with you and the girls."
"Yay!" he hugged me. I laughed, and wrapped my arms around him as well.

Re: The Secret
Breana's POV
"It's useless!" Orlando groaned, walking around his room, packing as I stood in the doorway. "She won't come out!" He said, referring to the three year old Mandy who was presently hiding under my bed, refusing to come out.
"Why?"
"She's afraid of flying." He said, putting a pair of shoes into his bag. "Always has been." He sighed, walking back into my room, and laying on his stomach, peeking under the bed at his daughter.
"Mandy, please come out sweetheart." He said. I stood behind him with my hand on my hips.
"Let me try."
"Breana, if she won't come out for me, she won't come out for anyone."
"Fine, but I want to give it a try anyway."
"Alright, it's worth a shot." He said, standing up. I took his place, laying on the floor, looking under the bed.
"Hi princess." I greeted the three year old.
"I don't want to go!" She said, her thick british accent matching her father's nearly perfectly. I smiled, laying down on my stomach so she could see my face from her place under my bed.
"Why not Mandy?"
She pulled down the bedskirt shyly, hiding. I lifted it again.
"Mandy? What's the matter honey?" I asked softly. She leaned forward, as if telling me a secret.
"I don't like the airplane. It's big..and scary...and goes really high..." She said, her big brown eyes filling up with tears.
"Awwww...I know it's scary." I said with an understanding smile. "But when it lands, we get to go to the beach!"
She looked up at me, unconvinced. I scooted closer, whispering to her, as if it was our own secret, and Orlando coudln't hear.
"What about if I hold your hand while we're on the plane?"
"The whole time?" She said, her voice a bit more chipper.
I smiled. "The whole time."
"Well....okay." She said with a nod, climbing out of the bed, and scurrying up into my arms. I smiled, and grabbed my bag, carrying her out to the car. I strapped her into her carseat, and helped Holly buckle in, loading our luggage.
"How did you do that?" Orlando asked astonished.
"It's a girl thing." I laughed, as he loaded his luggage. After we were finished, we piled into the car as well, and took off to the airport. Orlando checked our luggage, and the girls walked along with me, Mandy attached to my hand, as promised, and Holly holding the other one.
Orlando's POV
I couldn't imagine anyone being a bigger hit with my children. They loved her so much already, and she looked so natural with them. It still amazed me how someone that had been through so much, could still have such a brilliant outlook on life. Nothing got her down. She just pused through it, and went on.
Being raised by my mother and sister, I was no stranger to strong women, but Breana was something like I'd never seen. I smiled as she walked onto the plane, talking to the girls, and finding our seats.
