Re: The Secret
Breana's POV
I sighed, getting out my keys, and walking inside the house. Seeing him smoking in the kitchen, I walked in, leaning against the kitchen's doorframe. "You never smoke."
"I smoke when I'm stressed." He answered in a mono-tone.
"And when you're angry apparently." I said.
"I'm not in a joking mood, Breana." He scolded, using the same voice he used when Mandy or Holly were in trouble. I walked over, taking the cigarette, and stamping it out in the ash tray.
"Do not talk to me like a child, Orlando." I shot back. "I need to know what you are telling me here."
"What do you mean?" he asked, as if I should know.
"Are you just angry? Are you going to get over this, and move on, like an adult? Or are you telling me to leave?"
I saw Orlando's eyes change immediatly, and he shook his head fiercely. "No, I'm not telling you to leave. Yes, I'm angry. And yes, it's going to take me some time to let this go. But I don't want you to go unless you want to."
"I don't want to go anywhere, Orlando. I'm exactly where I want to be. But I still don't see what I've done wrong here. I know Carl. Much, much better than you do. If I would have called the cops, he would have been angry, escaped, and come after the girls, or me, or you again. Worse next time. I let him go because I wanted him as far away from us as possible." She said.
"Not because...you love him?"
"Have you lost your mind, Orlando?" I laughed. "I love you." I said, kissing him. "I just want him out of our lives. I don't want to live the rest of my life in fear."
