Re: Gifts for Little Pea
What a cute little sweater!!!
You do really good work. I wish I had enough talent to make a sweater like that. I can't even knit!

Re: Gifts for Little Pea
I know I said I wasn't going to make any silly gifts that might not be that useful. But I've been busy during the day and haven't been able to get out to a craft store for a long time so I didn't have the materials for a few projects I wanted to do. In the meantime, I made these silly little guys!
The bird didn't come out all that well (it's supposed to have a cute little beak!) and I might give it to Kali and make another one for the baby. The elephant is really cute though and I'm thinking of making another one a little bit bigger and in a different color to go along with it. And it was really fast to make!
This is so much fun!

Re: Gifts for Little Pea
EEEHHH!!! It's a boy! I gave my SIL the hat and booties at the dinner when she announced the sex of the baby. She thought they were really cute! And they are going to do cloth diapers so I'm going to make some wool soakers and make even try some diapers.
Lately I've been slowly working on another stuffed toy. I needed something to do on the plane to DC and it needed to be small. But I haven't had time since coming home, so I have a one legged critter with no head!
But unfortunately, we are in a budget crunch right now since we are trying to remodel the house with any money that doesn't go towards bills. I'm sure I can spend some here and there, but not like I did last year before the BIG remodel started. But I still have plenty of stuff around the house to make things for the little guy!

Re: Gifts for Little Pea
I gave her the little stuffed toys. She LOVED them! I can't wait to finish the one I'm working on now. It's taking forever...I haven't picked it up in almost a month!
Two of my other friends are pregnant too! So I'm thinking about making the elephant be my standard "congratulations" gift. I'll do something else for a baby shower but the elephant was so quick and easy and is just really cute!

Re: Gifts for Little Pea
Those are just too cute..and you know....the beak on the bird would be a perfect teething thing, since it's not extremely small. Something to think about.
If you need some yarn, I betcha that Fenxy and I could send you some stuff!!! lol. NOt sure it would be the colors you'd most want....but I probably have some that'd I be more than happy to send, knowing that it would get a lot more use there, than here!!

Re: Gifts for Little Pea
Saijen, yarn is one thing that I'm in no short supply of! It's nice fabric for baby blankets and such. I have the fabric picked out and I have some spending money now so I hope to get something going soon!
Here are two unfinished projects for the little guy. They've been sitting around for much too long, but I simply haven't been able to finish them.
First, meet Sheldon!
No, he hasn't exploded! He just hasn't ever been "together" in the first place. His shell is like a sweater that slips on and off and I have to finish that before putting his legs on (to make sure they are in the right spots!) but in order to attach the top of the shell to the belly piece...I have to crochet an edging! I have no idea how to crochet and don't even have any hooks. Luckily, my mom does but we haven't gotten together to get this guy finished yet!
And then I have a pair of booties that I need buttons for. They will be sewn onto the sides and the straps will hook onto them.
