Herbal Tinctures

Over the years, I have collected many herbal tinctures, some of which are nearly twenty years old, so have decided to replace them as I can. There are about 70 that I have used regularly over the years, and those I replace one for one, but now I see quite a few new tinctures that I am unfamiliar with so will be learning of their properties as I find them. To this end, I would enjoy a list of anyone's favorite herbal tinctures, that I may compare to my own, adding others as they are shown.

Of interest I created a very good headache tincture today - occasionally smells or tastes will give me a painful headache, that can last all day - such dangerous things as Ibuprofen or worse can deal with them quite easily, but I prefer to keep away from any drugs; to this end, I have been experimenting with different mixes of tinctures, and have come to a very rapidly working one. If you have no tinctures, you could use capsules - one medium capsule equals 8 drops of tincture. A large capsule with 500 mg of herb in it, equals 20 drops.

The Tincture: For headache that lingers.

15 drops willow bark - 2 capsules 00
25 drops Ginger Root - 3 capsules 00
30 drops Red Hawthorn - 4 capsules 00
10 drops peppermint - 1 larger capsule
5 drops chamomile. - 1 very small capsule

This makes one dose, taken in lukewarm water, that works rapidly - within 10 minutes the headache is going - within 30 minutes it is gone, and doesn't come back.

Re: Herbal Tinctures

Thank you for posting this, muladzh. I am going to have to find a supplier or something. It's hard to find a lot of these type oils or herbs around here. Any online suggestions?? I may have asked this before...if so, I apologize for asking again. Old age, ya know...teehee.

Re: Herbal Tinctures

I was wondering if it would work as a tea as getting the herb is easier than buying the oils.
