Amish Friendship Bread
My mom was recently given a baggie full of beige goo and told it was Amish Friendship Bread starter. She went home and found out how to take care of her new friend. It turns out, it is some good stuff!
It's a sourdough-like starter that multiplies each time you use it and can be passed around to your friends.
The bread is makes it very moist and delicious too! So far we've made cornbread, carrot bread and zucchini bread. The cornbread is by far my favorite! It's slightly creamy and really good!

Re: Amish Friendship Bread
We have seen that goo in the somewhat primitive stores in Shipshawana, IN; the one's with the multiple black buggies outside.

Re: Amish Friendship Bread
I used to have some starter, but something happened to it. You HAVE to use it every so many days or something, if I recall right. Made the best bread!!!
