Re: Major wedding/marriage faux pas...

You all already know I'm a bit odd (happily so) but all my wife had to do was pick out the colors she wanted (Emerald & Gold) and pick out the dress. Also who she wanted to stand with her.
I took care of everything else. Even made her bridal bouquet myself. emoticon
I would run everything by her to make sure it was what she wanted and she was happy, then make it happen.

When we renew our vows (which we had planned for our 10th annivesary this year, until she happily become pregnant with #3) we plan on doing a simple outdoor pagan ceremony.

<searches for his blabber switch and turns it off>

Curious - that's so neat that you were that involved. And #3 what a neat 10th anniversary gift.

Whatever!! LOL!! emoticon

I was an only kid ('til a tween) who was raised by a group of strong minded, strong opinioned, stereotypical women who loved to shop, bargain, argue, and find the best deals so those things come naturally to me.

My wife is the most untypical woman I've ever met (love her dearly). She HATES to shop no matter if it's clothes, grocery, furniture, cars, whatever. Once or twice a year I have to drag her kicking and screaming to get some newer clothes (usually happens when I point out to her that she couldn't even donate her current clothes to Goodwill because they are so threadbare..... she works with the public). She also hates budgeting and planning.

Therefore, I take care of all of that (including the shopping). Comes naturally and I like knowing I'm making our dollars stretch in an effort to attain our goals.

We really are a perfect match. We both defy every conventional norm of our culture, and continue to do so in our married life emoticon

Our poor kids don't stand a chance at "normalcy" ....... emoticon

Hehehe. I think our kids are going to be in the same boat as yours Curious! Your wife sounds a lot like me.

Corbin, most brides wouldn't let their grooms get near the wedding plans with a ten foot pole. I've been to plenty of bridal shows (for Chad's business) and the grooms just walk around with a stunned look on their face and have only been invited to carry the heavy stuff! I wouldn't worry about being the typical groom!

Now Corbin, did you really think that there was any other reason to keep males around besides carrying all of our heavy shopping bags? emoticon
