New (to me) car!
Saturday I become the owner of a '95 Isuzu Rodeo. And pretty cheaply. Good condition, 150000 miles, manual transmission- $1500.
I can either keep my current car (paid off) or sell it.
I'll be able to go camping, haul yard stuff, etc.
YAY!

Re: New (to me) car!
Yeah!!! Sounds like a good car - I read some reviews on it. Looks like I'm in the market for something now too. My old truck has just about had it and now the windshield is busted!
Love manual transmissions too - they just aren't common enough in the States.

Re: New (to me) car!
Congrats!! I need to replace my rear wheel drive beater van. It sits most of the winter because it does not handle good in snow at all!!

Re: New (to me) car!
It is a great feeling to get a vehicle that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. My pickup has to be in good condition, so I buy it new, but the others are all good old ones, cheaply bought.
Good for you. If the car is good with gas, keep it, the Rodeo won't be very good.

Re: New (to me) car!
WOOHOOO...congrats on your acquisition, Debborah!! It's always nice to get a vehicle you can rely on. I have one more year to pay on my used GMC Jimmy, that I love!!! And, like you, I can go camping and all that good stuff!! It's never hauled a camper that I'm aware of, but I'm hoping this summer to give that a shot...just me and my oldest daughter. Will just have to see.
Enjoy your 'new' vehicle hon!!!!!

Re: New (to me) car!
Thanks all for your congrats. I've put it's bigger cargo room to the test already... and in a couple weeks I'll get to see how it does hauling stuff to the fair I've got a booth at (etched glassware, a little earthday art fair.) I am so glad to not be trying to put the tables in the Escort!
Hopefully I'll have a bit more time here when that is done...

Re: New (to me) car!
Hehe...don't ya just love the cargo room in a good SUV???? Don't know what I'd do without my GMC Jimmy now that I have it..even though it's giving me problems at the moment.
2 years ago, my oldest daughter and I went camping in Alabama....I had the entire back seat folded down, and I was packed from floor to ceiling and side to side.....and had stuff on the roof rack as well. It held a lot, I tell ya!!!
I hope your Rodeo holds all you need it to, and then some!!! And I hope the fair goes well and you do good!
