Re: Spring 09 weightloss

Last time I was weighed at the doc's office, I was 213...so, I've gained 7 pounds emoticon

But then, DH and I have been pigging out on all kinds of NONO things lately. That's gotta stop!!

Stopping nonono stuff is far harder than stopping good stuff.. emoticon I have a great deal of problems controlling myself with nono stuff.

I totally agree, muladzh! I do like my sweets, for sure. But, DH and I agreed the other night that once this batch is gone, we're not bringing anymore into the house. We stopped bringing stuff in before and we both ate better at meal-time....and good for us type things.

Tonight, I am fixing baked chicken, broccoli/rice au grauten and mashed potatoes. Not the BEST stuff in the world, but not the worst either. It's all in portion control. emoticon....portion control....portion control...maybe if I say it enough it will stick!!!! LOL

How is everyone else doing???

4-6: 199.9
4-14: 199.7
4-21: 198.2

Difference: 1.7 lbs (or 0.85 per week)

Ok, so I'm getting closer to my goal! I think I'll reset the lbs per week counter every season - so every 6 weeks. I think that should be about right.

I attribute all the loss this last week to spending half the week at the farm putting up fencing, chopping wood and hauling things around in a wheelbarrow. I certainly didn't cut anything out of my diet (and I surely are more than my fair share of homemade cheese!) just upped the exercise a lot!

Isn't it amazing what fencing can do for a girl's figure? emoticon

Working like that sure will take the weight off, but it's not something you want to do all of the time. Well, maybe for you it is.....???? If you could, would you? (totally off subject, but curious)

I've lost 4 of those 7 pounds I had gained. I need to keep going if I'm going to get below 200 by the end of summer.
(have to wonder how much this mass weighs, now...hmmmmmmm is THAT what's keeping me over 200?? things that make ya go hmmm) LOL
I gotta find SOME kind of excuse.... emoticon

Now Saijen, having surgery to remove things from your body is cheating at weight loss! emoticon But if that mass has been contributing to making your feel sick and exhausted, having it gone will certainly allow you to increase your activity!

You know, I'm not sure about living the farm life 100% of the time. I actually think I would love it. But of course, that's coming from a weekend farmer, so what do I know! I do certainly enjoy "going to work to rest"! My dad always says that when he gets to spend a day in the lab too!

Man, Texas, you just took the fun right out of having surgery!!! emoticon If I can't use that as an excuse, then I'm up the creek without the proverbial paddle!!! ROTFL!

I don't think I could do farming 100% of the time, not on a large scale at any rate. I think I could handle a small amount of critters....2-3 goats, enough chickens to keep me in eggs, maybe a couple of horses that have a dual purpose.....riding and working (pulling a plow, etc). That would be about as much as I'd want to deal with...at least for now. And about maybe 15-20 acres...enough room for the goats and horses, and a decent garden. I honestly have to admire those who farm for a living. I wish I had their energy and stamina.

Hehe, yeah, I've always heard Dad say after a vacation that he had to go back to work to get some rest. Our vacations could wear a person out, for sure...lol.

Re: Spring 09 weightloss

nine pounds (to lose) is my goal. I don't think it is coming off any faster with the switch to lacto ovo vegetarianism, but it may be too soon to tell. I want to get to 135 lbs. Then, I'll see if my body wants to (or not) go further! I'm adding running back in this morning and am actually excited about this! I've had a piriformis injury forever, and I think it's healed enough now where I could try running again. My body wants to run. emoticon

I think I'm 20 pounds away from adding jogging back into my routine. I like to run too but my knees are a little achy with the extra weight and I don't want to push it. But by 180, I ought to be able to run no problem!

I had a real bad week...lots of rushed meals which meant too much processed food. I need to restock on good snacks at work and make some meals in advance for lunch. I dread what the scale is going to say tomorrow!

I think I'm going to have to start weighing at home. I can't get the doctor's scales to all read the same emoticon

Before I do that, though, I am going to buy some new scales. I hate the ones I have right now. I'd love to have some of those glass, digital ones. I may get lucky and find the ones I want soon. I think Avon even carries some in their 'Curves' section.

Last time I was weighed, I was 211. I'm bouncing all over the place, but I've not gone back above 213, so that's a good thing.
