Re: Spring 09 weightloss

muladzh, do you eat other sweet things like honey and agave nectar? Or just skip the sweet stuff all together? I only use white sugar on occasion and generally try to avoid all processed foods (easier said than done!) but I do love honey.

Forgot to weigh this morning. Doesn't matter - the jeans are tight. That means I'm hovering around 200. I'm finally taking the time to plan some meals. I haven't done that so I end up eating out or snacking for lunch at work. Not gonna lose weight that way!

We use honey - I eat about 3 tablespoons of it every day, sometimes less. We also use Birch syrup - or it's evaporated clone, xylotol. Nothing from the cane or beet, nothing from the chemistry lab, nothing processed. We are very strict on the no proccess stuff - If I see something I like the look of in the supermarket, I look at the label, anything I don't understand I don't eat.

We got around to sorting through the clothing I couldn't get into, before we left - there is a LOT of it that I can wear now. emoticon emoticon emoticon A shirt that would not reach round my chest is now loose enough to button up. This is making me rather happy, as I don't /can't diet - every time I have tried, I get bigger. So now I am eating nothing but 'real' food, am not overeating,( I don't want to) and getting smaller. Praises to the Goddess - I am finally listening to Her.

Re: Spring 09 weightloss

muladzh, the eating just enough and not wanting more is where I'm at now as well. It seems I simply can not over-eat, no matter what...which is a good thing.

As I've stated above, somewhere, I wish to get under 200 pounds by the end of this summer. I had to make an unscheduled trip to the surgeon's office Wednesday, and when they weighed me, I was at 204. Talk about being happy!!! If I can keep it up, I'll be under 200 long before the end of summer. Once I get to that point, then I'll work toward 195. When I get there...190, etc. I'm only putting a 5 pound loss on myself, so I won't freak out trying to lose a whole lot at one time. This seems to be working the best for me, rather than saying I want to be at 190 by the end of summer. That's only 14 pounds, but I'd prefer to go the way I am. Just a few pounds here...then a few more...etc.

muladzh! way to go!!! It feels sooo good to get into clothes you couldn't before.
I have a top I bought from a catalog, and when I got it, almost 2 years ago, I couldn't get it on. I can now!! It's been in my closet with the tags on it till about 2 months ago. I was really excited that I could wear it....and I still can! It's such a good feeling, isn't it???

How are the rest of ya doin????

My favorite pair of jeans is a bit looser this morning...of course, I only wear these jeans to the office so they don't get dirty and wear them a few times before washing. So they might just be a bit stretched! emoticon

I'm slowing down with all my doings (I think...) so I'm having more time to plan what to eat instead of just grabbing the first thing I see (be it an apple, a chunk of cheese or a bag of potato chips!)

Hang in there, all! emoticon

I was 141 a few days ago, the lowest it's been for quite awhile. Feeling pretty good. I like your strategy, Saijen, just concentrating on 5 lbs at a time.

I am still avoiding the scales - I don't want to get upset by not weighing what I want, so I will continue to ignore the scales and just watch the inches going.

Re: Spring 09 weightloss

I managed to do an hour of Nordic Walking this morning, it felt very good. The movements take some concentration to get right in coordination, so it does induce a slightly meditative state, at least for me.

I certainly couldn't have jogged for an hour, but right now I just feel pleasantly worked. I can feel some muscles, but since I did some stretching exercises at the end, I won't be sore.

Tomorrow: The scales. I ate too much to have lost anything. Sadly, I've been craving sweets so much that I probably put more on. emoticon

Re: Spring 09 weightloss

One true testiment to weight loss is when you have to buy new undies!!!
Yep, I have gone down a size in undies!!! WOOHOO. I had to go buy some the other day...the ones I had were baggin, and if I pulled em up where they should have been, the waistband was almost under my armpits! So, I'm happy!!! ROTFL! emoticon

I've not weighed since I did at the doc's office. I'll probably not weigh again till I go back to his office on the 4th. If not sooner (long story.....).
I still feel like I'm down pretty far...not yet as far as I want, but I'm not too worried.

cat..thanks. I figured it was a LOT easier to hit a 5 pound mark than a 25 pound mark....at least for me. One of my daughter's scoffed at me when I told her I was working toward 199 pounds. She said..well, why not just shoot for 180? I said it's because it's much easier to lose 5 pounds than it is to lose 25, and that I can handle smaller losses a lot better to get where I want to be. My ultimate goal is to get anywhere between 130 and 145. I have a long way to go, but I'm not concentrating on my ultimate goal...just on my short term goals. Seems to make the weight loss go faster or something. Not sure what the deal is, but if it works for me, that's all that matter! LOL.

And Cat....CONGRATS!!!! You keep on workin at it. How much more do you want to lose?

I want to get to 135. Then we'll see what my body says. I've felt very good at 135 before. So that's six more pounds.

Thanks! I need to up the running, though. I can tell my heart needs to work more.

Re: Spring 09 weightloss

Well, bad news for me. I hadn't weighed in awhile. I'm working so hard at the farm but when I'm back home, I don't have the energy to cook and hubby has kept me amply supplied with junk food. Sigh. So I finally braved the scales. I figured it was time to scare myself back into cooking at home. Well, it worked!!!

I'm now 205...very close the the highest I've been. 207 puts me into the officially obese category and also marks my highest weight. That oughta scare me back into shape!

Keep up the good work everyone!!!!
