Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

Things have been rough for me as I have been on the road so much and now struggling to get back on track with things. But we are eating at home much more often now and hubby is really trying to kick the candy habit. I haven't lost any weight, but haven't gained any either. Tried to do my weigh in this morning but the scale is on the fritz! I think it needs new batteries. Next week then!

These last few weeks have been crazy here and I became careless again. I'm now back up to 266lbs emoticon

Time to get back on track. I know what needs to be done. emoticon

It is SO easy to get careless with diet, even if you have all the answers in front of you. emoticon

Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

I lost about a kg last week, but I'm not sure it's going to stay off. I'm off the pill this week, and usually that means losing a lot of water stored in the body. The price for that wasn't nice, though. emoticon

Of course, I'm also under a lot of stress because of the changes in my life, and my eating habits have changed. I also often eat less when I'm alone, so ...

I hope this downward trend continues. emoticon

Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

I'm still bouncing around here. I think I am going to buy a brand new set of scales and calibrate them to the ones at my doctor's office. Then, I won't worry about the scales at any other office. I'll only worry about mine and my primary doc's scales. It seems I am not the same weight at any one doctor's office, and that makes it hard to keep up with what is really my true weight.

I hope the rest of you are doing well!!!

Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

I need more time to plan my diet. When I'm in a huge rush and get to work with nothing to eat, I eat junk food. I actually thought I was going to throw up yesterday because it made my stomach so sick. So I think that scared me back on track. I probably haven't lost, but I know I haven't gained from the fit of my clothes.

Hubby weighed himself. He's gained 30 pounds since we met. He's blaming it on my cooking! emoticon

So we are both getting very serious about it. Just taking a lot longer than we want to put that attitude into actual actions.

Way to go, muladzh!!!! I wish I could say the same, but I think I'm on a plateau and I'm still just bouncing around, going up and down within a 7 pound weight difference. That doesn't sound like a lot, and I know some of it's water and normal fluctuation, but I'm not losing, and that has me frustrated. I may need to go back to my yogurt and cottage cheese daily.

Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

I am holding between 140-142. Not sure why. I've been very good foodwise. I ruled out thyroid and I'm not diabetic. My diet is really really clean. But My body had the deep sense that I needed more exercise on a regular basis to make me sweat. I started running again and I really feel good. Not a huge amount -- I'm aiming for 20 minutes or so five times a week. Plus a daily walk with the dog, and the physical stuff I love to do around here (right now we're putting up wood). I need to get more serious about weight lifting again too. This stuff takes time! Guess I just have to make that commitment.

I think I can get to 135, though it may take foreverrrrrr...I attribute this possibly to being through menopause and also almost 50...But I can be patient and determined when I have to be -- very determined. emoticon

Great job, muladzh, and good luck to us all.

Re: Summer 09 Weightloss

Cat, it sounds like you're on a plateau as well. They are hard to break, but if I know us, we'll manage, somehow! I would LOVE to be where you are at now, weight wise. It's been so long since I've been under 150 I can hardly remember it!! I'll get there eventually, and I'm hoping I'll have some help after Aug. 6th.

There is a compounding pharmacist in the next town over that specializes in natural women's hormone replacement therapy. I have an appointment with her on the 6th. I am 50, and have just had the second part of a hysterectomy done, so I have nothing to create hormones. Weight loss is one of the hardest things to do while in perimenopause (just before you go in) and during, and especially afterwards. Well, I was thrust rather quickly into the 'during' phase, so I'm going to see if maybe I can get some help with other things as well as the weight issue. It takes up to 3 months to get the full benefits of this therapy, so it may be a while before I actually start with the solid weight loss IF it will work on that with me. I'll let you know how it goes.

And good luck to all of us!!!!
