Aloha from Oahu

Hello there. I came over here as a result of Firlefanz showing me this board.

I'm not a very religious person, and I don't homestead. Not because I don't want to, but because it's kind of hard to do in base housing especially when you move about every year or two.

I am interested in self-sufficient and green living though. So hopefully I won't stick out too much here.

Hi bluecollar - I think it's more of a mindset than having to actually have a homestead. At least I hope so.

Merry Christmas to you.

Good Morning and Welcome, Blue.

You won't stick out at all here. We are a varied group. Not all of us can homestead, some because of no room, or the fact that we don't own our own homes....some because of cost factors and such, so please don't feel out of place here.
Living a life as close to self-sufficiency and living 'green' are very acceptable here. I am working on living a bit more green than I have been myself.

Anyway...I look forward to your posts and from learning from you, and I hope you also learn from us. emoticon Drag up an empty chair so we can get down to the business of chatting with each other. emoticon

Aloha! I was born on the Tripler Army Base and lived there on Oahu for several years as a young monster before moving inland and across the country (slowly but surely).

It is a beautiful place - Diamond Head is a great spot and the beaches are sweet. The Goddess of volcano's Pele is an interesting one to check out - we had one of her volcanic statues in our living room when I was a kid. Peridots are said to be her tears.
