Howdy from Kansas!
Hello everyone,
I began my homestead about a year ago but so far we have 19 acres all together and can not wait to move out to the country. I have arabian horses, goats, rabbits, chickens, a garden and Im learning home dairy with my goats. Im planing on starting some fruit trees and berrys this year as well. I have been pagan for about 4 yrs now and would never dream of turning back. Recently got my book from Brahms and I am loving every miniut I spend on it.
Nice to meet you all!

Re: Howdy from Kansas!
WEll I have only had my milk goats a little over a week now but the 2 im milking are a Saanen and a LaMancha. I have a few other LaManchas and nubians as well and we are buying a big meat type buck to breed them to. We would like to raise meat goats. Im only milking a few just for us. The only think I have tried to make yet is Yogurt and it was aflop so I will have to try again. Im geting ready to try to make soap in the morning and I just got all my supplies from Hoaggers today so Ill be able to make cheeses and such. Im still not sure how this goat jurney is going to turn out but I love them!

Re: Howdy from Kansas!
I'm quickly learning how to make all kinds of cheeses! I took a two day class on it a few months ago and we are just starting to get enough milk to do it. Check out the Food and Health forum and post any questions you might have there! I hope to do a picture tutorial of some cheese making this weekend. I'm out of mozzarella already so I need to make some more. Only takes 30 minutes!

Re: Howdy from Kansas!
Hi and welcome, silverfilly
Oh....you'll fit in here, what with your new goaties LOL. I'd have goats if I owned where we live!!
It sounds like you have things pretty well figured out. That's a good thing. Never hesitate to ask questions here. If no one knows the answer, someone will do some hunting to find it.
Enjoy the board. I'm glad you found us
Again...welcome to the board
