Kali's Hello
Just found this group and dropping in to say hello - I live in NC, am married with monsters and an ark of animals. I enjoy learning and I am a solitary practioner who recently went on a quest to find a good path to follow and started classes.

Re: Kali's Hello
Hey Kali and Welcome!!!
I started out solitary myself, then went in search of some help and possible study classes, and ended up in a coven! LOL. But, I enjoyed that as well, and my best friend came from that experience.
Can't wait to hear about all your critters....both 2 legged and 4 legged!!
Again....welcome to the board!

Re: Kali's Hello
Hello back all - thanks for the warm greetings.
I have two young monsters - one girl age 8 and one boy age 6 along with an adult monster whom I have been married to for nearly 10 years. Several critters - a dobby, a tomcat, hamsters, a rabbit, fish, snails and my daughter is trying hard to talk me and her dad into a parrot. Since they are flock animals my husband is actually considering it - we have the flock just running out of room so she has been told when we find a bigger place she can her bird that talks to her and the other animals running around.

Re: Kali's Hello
Parrots can be fun! My parents have a green checked conure. They got him when he was "too old" to learn to talk (I'm not sure if that's true, but they apparently learn a lot better when they are younger) but he does mimic sounds. He can learn how to open complicated puzzles too - always a good party trick!

Re: Kali's Hello
Yeah I figured we would need a young one - in addition to talking/mimicing more I want to get it young so that it has no "hang ups" about kitties, dobbies and other critters. I have noticed that if we get our pets young they intergrate better into the growing collection of critters. My cat hardly even blinks anymore when I bring something home that is not on the menu - he was reared as a kitten with our dobby - they play together, sleep together, etc. Though our Rabbit seems to scare him a bit - but we have an unusually big and friendly rabbit we got when he was a baby - so he has no fear of all the craziness in the house but just bounces along with the rest of. :-)
