Re: Numinous Experience
When I was a child it was referred to simply as "the ability" or "the gift". For the last couple decades we called it Empath after someone learned the word (during this time many in my family converted from agnostic to Christianity so most stopped talking about it because it's "from the devil").
I came across the term Clairsentience for the first time a few years ago and liked it because it describes the other things beyond what is normally associated with the word Empath.
Having the gift of reading/feeling/interpreting peoples energy..... and being hearing impaired since a toddler and thus having instinctively trained myself to notice/observe every single nuance of a person's body language... I am extremely skilled at reading people.
I have very rarely in my life ever come across someone I couldn't read, when I do come across one usually there is something "different" about them.

Re: Numinous Experience
hmmm..it happens for me sometimes, but it's random. It seems to come for me most during or related to the death or passing of someone very beloved (human or animal companion). My thought is those are the times when I'm able to get out of my way enough, because I'm deeply in grief, to be open to the experiences. I have heard a ghost and have had various sensations and experiences, but it's not a regular thing. They've all been good experiences, not scary.
