Personality Plus
... by Florence Littauer
If you don't mind bible quotes strewn into this, it's a nice little book on the four temperaments - a personality helper.
Florence Littauer describes the four types of people - sanguinic, melancholic, choleric and phlegmatic - in a fun and entertaining way.
It's by no means scientific or meant to "type" people. Instead, this book tries to help with communication and understanding why other people might think differently.
And it's fun because Ms. Littauer tells a lot of funny anecdotes to make her points. I did enjoy it and simply overlooked most of her bible quotes (although she chose nice ones, too). Oh, and I entirely ignore the last chapter.
Anyway, if you can get it in a library, it's quite eye-opening.

Re: Personality Plus
These four "temperaments" go much further back than Carl Jung, though. The names reveal that they belong to the "body fluid categories" or humorism from way back in ancient times - think Hippocrates.
In modern times, it was Hans Eysenck who used those terms for his personality theory. (I'm just checking this, but since I'm on my way to becoming a psychotherapist, it's a good idea.)

Re: Personality Plus
Yes - I know that Carl Jung used them, though, - and I'm most familiar with them from Jung, which was why I wondered. Actually, now that I think of it, Jung used the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water), on which the humors are based.
I'm always interested in psychology. I was once on my way to becoming a psychotherapist myself - but I got side tracked by something else.
I should look into that book .
