WALL-E

I'm putting this here, even though it's a movie. I think this movie is phenomenal.

Touching
plenty of social commentary
amazing animation (I'm not really an animation fan -- but WOW!)
good for kids and adults
warnings about some very possible futures for the human race.

this movie moved me on a lot of levels. In a nutshell, humans are forced to leave earth when our garbage overtakes all the space on the planet. WALL-E is a trash compactor robot -- and the only thing alive in on the planet. Humans in space send a probe back to earth to see if life can again be sustained on earth so that humans can be returned. I won't say much more, but WALL-E does end up in space, meeting what's become of humans. WOW. I think THIS movie should have gotten "Best Pic of the Year"

I'd be interested if anyone else has seen it, and what you thought.

MagiCat, on the strength of your recommendation, I went to Wal*Mart, and found WALL-E.

I have to agree, it is a wonderful movie, it found the soft spot in me quite soon on; we both loved it.
