Your Pantheon?

I know a lot of folks here either have a more general view of the divine (pantheist or spiritualist) and lots have a God/Goddess duality. Does anyone here have another specific pantheon that they work with? Greek? Egyptian? Etc?

I would love to hear about it!

I am honestly not sure what Pantheon the God/dess our coven used are from. I think they are Celtic. Our coven Goddess was Rhiannan and our God was Cernunos. I still use them, but I also use which ever diety will fit what I need, using from a variety of Pantheons.
I have also realized that I don't always need to use a diety, but I can use the Watchers for a lot of things, again, depending on what I need determines who I use.
I'd have to get my books out since it's been so long since I've used much of anything to give you names and what-not.

European Alchemists generally use a combination of Greek and Roman deities - especially Hermes and Venus (although Venus is also Isis - for Alchemists. Venus is one of her manifestations).

But deities in Alchemy are a bit different from the way deities are used in other religious systems. In Alchemy, they generally are used to represent specific processes (or parts of processes). They could just as well be deities from any religion. The European Alchemists picked Greek/Roman deities because they were familiar with them from their classical educations.

However, when you are working intensely with those processes - which requires you to keep complex and moving symbols in your head for long periods of time as you work, the symbolic deities actually take on a separate, external existence (what Carl Jung called "autonomous psychic projections").

It's very weird - the first time it actually happened to me was a shock. Suddenly, there's Hermes showing up next to me in the car... he kept wanting to know if we were there yet...

I told you it's weird emoticon .

Cernnunos and Rhiannan are Celtic deities, Saijen.

I always thought Cernunnos was the male God of the Wicca.

I lean more towards a Terry Pratchett pantheon; I refer mostly to an unnamed Lord and Lady.

But no Offler the Crocodile Gods here.

If I call upon someone by name it is Astarte, but in the privacy of my head I feel closest to Artemis.

Thank you Blitzen. I thought they were since my former HPS leaned toward Celtic and was schooled in the British Tradition.

I'd not heard about Cernnunos being the Wiccan God...I just know that's who we used when I was in the coven. There is very little known about him, actually, but he's likened to Pan in most 'accounts' of him that I've found.
