Texas Wheel of the Year
muladzh's comment in another post got me thinking. The old pagan calendar might not have all that much to do with my life here in Texas. I've already moved a lot of things around from what I've read in books. For instance, many of the harvest holidays don't make a lot of sense for a place like this with year round crops. But I've finally decided to just change the seasons to fit my year.
From my perspective, we have a long winter and summer and short spring and fall. I'm sure some people would consider our winter to be fall, but once it starts to freeze, I consider that winter!
So here's a rough sketch of my wheel. I'd like to work on this some more and get it figured out better. Summer doesn't end until late September. And you are lucky if it does! The entire time labeled fall can either be 40 degrees or 90 degrees. It's a weird time of year. Same with spring. I guess that's how I made the distinction. Those are the time of change. And it fits with the planting seasons as well.
(ignore the nerdy graph paper - I sketched it at work! )

Re: Texas Wheel of the Year
This is pretty darn cool, Texas!! I can see how the Wheel wouldn't fit a lot of places...even far north. It would need to be adjusted there as well, I'm sure. \
I have found that NOTHING in this path is set in concrete...or stone. Things can be changed as needed (not just because you want them changed..there has to be a need). So, you did just that...and it looks pretty cool.
