Pagan Police Gets Holidays Off in UK

I just ran into this article and thought I would share it:

Pagan police get solstice leave

The article contains very interesting comments about what being Pagan is about.

I think this is a great idea. emoticon

I read that news on another news site and I have to say that the BBC at least didn't poke fun at the whole thing. I can't find the original article I read, but it was clearly amused at the whole thing.

All in all, I think it's good to recognize the need of other people to be able to take certain days off for things like this. I am able to do so at my work simply because I set my own schedule. But the quotes from the pagans in the article are weird. And the spells for promotions? I don't know...seems a little weird!

Well, they did mention in passing that Jews and Moslems also get days off for their holidays, so I think they used the Pagan angle for interest.

Even so, it's a good idea, and it will help people feel accepted. And maybe, there will be volunteers for Christmas and such who don't celebrate it. emoticon

It is common to get the Solstice off in Britain - I took them off regularly before I emigrated.

It took too long for the article to load, but I think it's pretty cool that Pagan cops are getting some of our holidays off. Now, if they'd just to that in the States!
