Fall Equinox
Actually, that happened on Tuesday. Did you do anything special?
I did not, and I regret it. At least I did greet the sun when it rose above the horizon (which for me is the roof of a house across the yard).

Re: Fall Equinox
I didn't do anything either. Hubby and I had planned on doing something special. I was going to take the day off work and we would spend some time in the park. Well, I ended up taking the day off work...but because I felt AWFUL! Blech. A cold front moved in that day too - it went from 95 to 65 overnight! But it was fun, we opened the windows in the house and cuddled under blankets on the couch and watched movies all day.

Re: Fall Equinox
We didn't do anything. I mostly just sat around the house...DH worked out in the yard some.
I think I've lost my desire to do a lot on most of the Sabbats

I trust that you understand that it's a geographical difference and I'm NOT poking fun at you...... but wowsers that gave me a chuckle!!!
We only keep our thermostat at 62 degrees and that's comfortable enough for us to all wear short sleeve t-shirts in the house
(you may feel free to laugh at me when it's 85 degrees and I swear I'm DYING from heat exhaution )

Re: Fall Equinox
Curious, I also got a chuckle from that comment, even though I am in the south. I'm just not as far south as Texas is so we do get cooler temps here than they do. We're dealing with low 40's at night, with a high 30 tossed in here and there right now. It's not bad at all unless with wind is blowing..then it's cold.
And we're having to sleep in the camper right now. Explanation in Open Circle....

Re: Fall Equinox
We celebrated the equinox by travelling. We took the kids to DC. my oldest loves trains, we could not afford a tre crosscountry train trip so we thought a trip to the DC Zoo and riding the metro would do, and it did he was elated. My MiL went with us and we stayed at her house and visited with family the next day. We took the kids to the lake, swimming was closed but you could wade in. My wife and son waded in and pick up muscle shells. I felt horrible, my son is 4 and has not seen the ocean. For some not the worst thing, but to live so close to it. With the homestead and being broke all the time travel for us is hard. So I hit my wife up with a very uncharacteristic and spontaneous idea. Throw caution to the wind and drive to the beach stay the night and go home. So we did, and my kids absolutely loved it. We are paying for it now finacially but I would not change it for anything. It was the best Mabon ever.

Re: Fall Equinox
Bobby, I am glad that you did something so spontaneous, but I'm sorry that it put you in jeopardy financially. I pray that the God/dess will bulk up your wallet in such a way that no one has to pay for the added funds. Just enough to get you back where you would normally be.
I know the kids must have had a blast. When I was in NE Alabama, my now ex and I took our girls to the Gulf Coast for a few days. We stayed with one of my Aunts. We really had a good time.

It's even funnier when the weatherman talks about a cold front in the middle of the summer. It usually takes us down from 110 to 95 or so!
As soon as it hits 70 here, EVERYONE has long pants and long sleeves on. Gotta keep warm!
