Have been sick and didn't know it

emoticon all. I guess I was sick and didn't know it. I wasn't feeling good for a few days and it got worse. Ended up in ER on Tues night. I had a infection in my colon and got blood work and more. Now back home and have today off and go back to work with Dr's excuse next week. Thank goodness my good friend Vicky told me to make a call to a place to talk to a RN about my health and they told me they didn't rule out Kidney stones again. But it wasn't that at all. Got 3 prescriptions for medicine to take also for the next 7 days and one is a pain killer. But I'm thankful I don't have to have surgery. The name of this is called Diverticulitis. Which I never heard of before today.

Thanks all. Just found out that they read my cat scan wrong. The doctor called and say I have kidney stones again. I have to get up to Iowa City here as soon as I can. We have to apply for Iowa Care since we don't have health insurance. I'm very upset about the whole thing.

Really sorry to hear this bad news Margie, I wish I could sometimes wave a real wand and make things better for you. Having no insurance is upsetting enough besides having kidney stones.

Is there anyone or anywhere which can help you with medical bills etc ?

Over here in the UK we have the National Health Service (NHS) which is FREE to anyone who is a UK resident or Visitor and then there is Private Care which you pay for through an Insurance program through an employer or you pay yourself.

I've got a website for you to look at which you may not be able to find in a web search over there in the states, hope it helps. If there is anything I can do to help or pass on advice feel free to either PM me or post here or on my board.

Thanks Wizard for this. I can apply for Iowa Care which is good. It depends on our income and if so we won't have to pay a thing to go up to Iowa City. I'm putting in for the paperwork this week. And I will look at what you send me also. I talked to personal at my job and have taken a leave of absents for 10 days started today. Go from there I guess. Hugs, Margie
