Temple of Illusia - Calling world historians
The It's all an Illusion forum, located at the Temple of Illusia, was founded for the purpose of exploring the world society as a whole and collectively understanding it all, to hopefully improve it.
Politics and history of all our different cultures, as well as religion and science, are all important contributing factors to the way we all live in the world today. Each of these factors influences all of the others, forming our laws, our beliefs, and the different perspectives we all have on the world and the people within it.
I hope to attract people with various beliefs and in different areas of expertise, to share our experiences, to gain greater enlightenment and come closer to world unity through understanding. Debate is inevitable. Respectable debate is encouraged.
This board is fairly new and I have just begun to advertise it. But it is my hope that, with help from others who believe in the cause, we can do something really positive for the world with it.

That is an impressive board, LG; in design, structure and content.
I'm sure you'll have members flocking to it.

Re: Temple of Illusia - Calling world historians
Thank you for the great compliments, Rimmer!
I sure hope you're right about the flocking. I think we could all learn a lot about each other and ourselves if enough people participate in the discussions.

Update to alert everyone to a cultural topic at Illusia:
For Iraqis, Religion Trumps Nationality — See why many Iraqis fear their Christian occupiers.
Please stop by and add your thoughts.

Re: Temple of Illusia - Calling world historians
We have several new political and religious discussions going on, as well as a couple new historical topics:
The Burning of the Library of Alexandria — The loss of the ancient world's single greatest archive of knowledge, the Library of Alexandria, has been lamented for ages. But how and why it was lost is still a mystery. The mystery exists not for lack of suspects but from an excess of them...
Great Lies Of The American 'Free Press' — What do Hitler, McCarthy, and Bush all have in common?

Re: Temple of Illusia - Calling world historians
There's certainly great variety with those two subjects (unless Hitler, McCarthy or Bush were responsible for burning down the library).

Re: Temple of Illusia - Calling world historians
Lol, nope, Hitler, McCarthy, and Bush came much later than the destruction of the library of Alexandria. But in both cases, information has been suppressed and history 'revised' by the victors.
