Re: Coffee Shortage
Oh Dear! I'll have to introduce you to the rituals of tea making and drinking 9with cucumber sandwiches).
There's no tea cup here???
Oh Well! I can pretend.
Did you guys see my cute wild boar invasion this morning, BTW
How's this for a close encounter of the wild kind? In my back garden.

Re: Coffee Shortage
Interesting indeed. I would like to ask you a question about that if I may.
Is there some other animal or special type of plant you have in the area that seemed to have drawn that boar to that one spot repetitively?
If not, it was drawn to the little wizard/troll I see in that clip. I do hope you say there is something of a food or animal penned there in that exact area that kept it's attention.
This holds a valid pull for me at this time. Please respond back on that.

Re: Coffee Shortage
That what that troll/wizard is called. I never miss the little things when looking past the obvious. It is a curse in itself. I can't stand a picture to be out of level, unless the house trim matches that error.

Re: Coffee Shortage
there's a whole story around that rickety-looking fence.
I have a very naughty Boxer dog, named Bella. She has the most fantastic hunting instinct and a nose for sniffing out anything that moves in the garden.
If you look at the other videos in my channel, you'll see the sort of animals we get visiting us, one I haven't been able to catch on film is a little 'blue' buck called a 'duiker'.
Every time we fix that fence with a stronger one, she finds a way to get through it to kill the wildlife, and every time she gets through it, I try to find other ways to stop her.
We had a lovely shade garden in that spot until she dug it all out in an attempt to get there and the rocks, broken chairs and gnome were all placed at strategic spots to stop her, which they have until the boar managed to make a hole in the fence, he couldn't get past the chair behind it so he smashed the gate instead. We have someone coming in next week to dig down and put a fence in a foundation there so I can get rid of the junk.
I live on a hill that overlooks the Indian Ocean on the one side and miles of sugar cane fields on the other.
The cane harbors a whole ecological system of wildlife, snakes, cane rats, frogs, spiders, beetles and other insects, wild boar, buck, mongoose, civets, vervet monkeys, and so on and down at the river there is a breeding pair of fish eagles that we see flying over our house from time to time.
The reason the boar came to our house was that he'd got lost out of the cane and wandered into the neighborhood, probably came over from the hill to the side of us. Anyway, all the men spun into hunter mode and looked around for any weapon they could find to turn him into a weekend feast, except he wasn't going to go down without a fight but instead of attacking them, which he very well could've done, and done some serious damage, he bashed through our front gate, up to our house and then followng his nose to the cane, bashed through the side gate and back fence to get home.
I was thrilled that he got away, one for me and the conservationists.
Here are some pics: Indian Ocean (it's a little more overgrown now because I won't let them chop down trees for the view).
The cane fields with the motorway in the background, the river is under that bridge.
Miss Bella, the brown hunter.
It was amazing with the board yesterday, the dogs smelled him before anyone saw him. I got up to see what the fuss was about and saw the gates open. I called him husband thinking there was an intruder (which of course there was) and then saw the hysteria in the road. He went down to check the gates, not knowing that there was a really big wild animal just behind him, then when he reached the gate and saw me standing outside looking out to see what the fuss was about, he screamed at me to get inside, I heard a grunt and then almost had a nervous breakdown when I saw what was behind me. Luckily I'd had the sense to keep the dogs in when I saw the open gates. So I grabbed a camera and produced this little bit of film for your enjoyment.
I was so excited about all of this I couldn't sleep. I kept dreaming about it.
Not quite PTS but sort of but of the best kind, the prey got away.

Re: Coffee Shortage
That still did not quite answer the question why it was staring at and came back to it again. I was hoping you would have said yes a certain type of food source was there, or an animal that it would have been interested in. If you watch your own video of it you should see what I was talking about. The boar was very interested in that exact spot.
Who knows, might like gnomes or the smell of the finish colors, or the colors being different might have been it. Nose on the pig is very well tuned for smells. Was interesting to see it return back to look at that area more than once. The gnome was possibly a coincidence, but was still odd/funny as the ref.
