December 2006 Board of the Month

The Board of the Month for December 2006 is...

By now, you are all famliar with the questions I send out to winning board owners. Even so, sneakylittleangel5 was kind enough to answer them all.

~~1. What made you decide to start a board?~~

I actually decided to start a board myself about a year or so ago...for my friends...a place where they could go and talk and feel safe and never get bashed for anything they felt like talking about. Then slowly, after awhile I opened it up to others that I met here on runboard, and also became great friends with. And so far I've not regretted it for a minute!

~~2. What made you choose Runboard?~~

I found out about runboard through the same group of friends that I had actually started a board for. It seemed easy to use and understand, and if I didnt know how to do something...well I found out they have lots of super people here that will help you out!

~~3. What's your target audience?~~

I just enjoy all kinds of folks. As long as they have a tad of a good sense of humor, then they are the folks for me! Everyone gets a chance there...or maybe even two or three!

~~4. How did you get people to join? How did you advertise your board?~~

At first it was only people that we knew and trusted. But the more I went to other boards...the more I met other people i liked. So I put the link to my board on their boards..and then in The Runboard Directory....and now I have the BEST people I could want there..(at least I think so!)

~~5. What's the central theme of your board?~~

The central theme of my board is a mixture of things..I'm an all american girl as you can tell...but I wanted to throw my angels in there, along with my ornery little devils, because to me, that is just the way life is anymore. I want it to be homey looking, peaceful, and lots of fun so everyone who comes will feel at ease there.

~~6. What are the board rules and how important are they?~~

My board rules are very simple...just be nice to each other..love each other for who they are..and try not to bash anyone...at least not too hard! This is very important to me.

~~7. How important are the look and feel of the board? Or, are content and member involvement more important?~~

I just want it to reflect the kind of person that I am. To be homey looking and comfortable so anyone will feel like they can talk, laugh or cut up with us once they get there. It is good to have a board that people can enjoy looking at, but one that they can read and feel comfortable at and easy to navigate.

Member involvement is very important to me...I love each and everyone of my members...and I LOVE talking with them too. I love getting in there and helping to make them feel at ease. I have WONDERFUL people there, so I say member involvement is very important.

~~8. How do you keep interest up?~~

Just talking everyday...sharing all our sorrows, troubles, and triumphs. We have many interesting things to do...from the way we play our games to our daily involvement with each other. And I try to stay in contact with as many other boards that I can daily. Just so I can meet more new people.

~~9. What's the best feature of your board?~~

Wow...its my members. I have wonderful wonderful people there, you cant have a good board unless you have good and loyal members. What else can I say? Its them..

~~10. What are your plans for the future, boardwise?~~

Just to keep it up and going...meeting more new people, making more new friends.

~~11. What would be your advice to a new Board owner? ~~

Get out there and enjoy the people who are on your board. Talk with them, get to know them, they are the backbone of your board, and some of the best people you could ever get to know. Without them...your board is nothing.
