May 2006 Board of the Month
The Board of the Month for May 2006 is
Club Pandemonium
Congratulations, Joshin Josh!
Yes, this board is owned by a member of The Runboard Directory Staff. In order to make sure we're not biased, the Staff Member who owns a board is not allowed to vote on it. As we use an average system in rating boards, that does put a Staff owned board at a disadvantage. Club Pandemonium won in spite of that.
Josh has kindly answered the questions I ask every winning board owner.

~~1. What made you decide to start a board?~~
I created my first Runboard message board while I was in college studying radio broadcasting, then I met a lot of great people here on Runboard. I decided I would much rather have a general discussion board, rather than one entirely about radio broadcasting so I created Club Pandemonium.
~~2. What made you choose Runboard?~~
I originally came to Runboard because a friend had created a message board here. When I created my own board I stayed here because I liked the global community feel of Runboard.
~~3. What's your target audience?~~
There really is no set target audience at Club Pandemonium. We have members of various ages. We all do have at least one thing in common though, we all enjoy a good laugh.
~~4. How did you get people to join? How did you advertise your board?~~
I advertised my board here. A lot of my most active members visited my board for the first time because I became an active member of their board. Also I normally have a My boards link in my signature.
~~5. What's the central theme of your board?~~
Our theme is that of a friendly bar. Some people like to come there to just Chat in general and some come for debates, and entertainment discussion..
~~6. What are the board rules and how important are they?~~
We have very few rules at CP, there is however one ‘big‘ rule I always make sure is enforced, and that is, No direct or personal attacks on ANY board member. An example of this is: If you are in a debate about Abortion you may give your opinion on Abortion, but you many not give your opinion on nor "attack" a person on the board who is opposed to your opinion.
~~7. How important is the look and feel of the board? Or, is content and member involvement more important?~~
There are only a few things about the Club Pandemonium layout that hardly have ever changed from Day #1. These are the Dark colors, and the Sidebar. I feel that the Member involvement is the most important. I also feel like the people on C.P. are like one huge family.
~~8. How do you keep interest up?~~
I think it’s the many Light, humorous, and Non-serious topics that are added almost daily. It is quite relaxing to know you can go online, to a message board and get a few laughs after a long, and stressful day.
~~9. What's the best feature of your board?~~
The members, and the funny stories, and relaxing atmosphere they create. I asked on of my admin's this question and she replied "I always liked the feeling to be welcomed coming over there the first time. Nothing like those 'cliquey groups' you have on various other boards."
~~10. What are your plans for the future, boardwise?~~
Global Domination, alright I’m kidding. Our biggest plan is just to keep the board active, and relaxing.
~~11. What would be your advice to a new Board owner? ~~
I think it's always a good thing to know how you want your board to run before you start advertising, also it is a good idea to look through boards such as Runboard Extra! and such to find Stuff that makes your board look better. I almost recommend making Mistakes, because it seems that the more mistakes you make in webpage design.. the more you learn, that is if you don't give up.. and you recognize what errors you made. And above all.. Patience is a virtue lol.
