Re: Finally some new work completed!
Lately I've been eating pink eggs...pickled in beet juice!
Is the perception bracelet brass? Do you have to treat it significantly differently than the copper? I've never really worked with either metal (well, except for machining them) so I don't know how they forge or form.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Finally some new work completed!
The perception bracelet is brass - it's actually a better metal for bracelets than copper because it is a bit firmer, but I honestly don't like the color as much. Kind of brassy... I'm looking for a good source for bronze which is kind of like a reder gold, but has pretty much the same working properties as brass.
Both copper and brass work pretty much the same, with the exception that the copper is much softer and more maleable. Sometimes it almost feels sticky when I saw it.
Generally, copper is forged cold - it's soft enough that working it hot is way overkill, and you'd have to be too gentle with it. Brass is usually worked cold also, although some people do work it hot - but it has a very narrow window of temperature for hot work - too hot and it's mush, too cool and it might as well be cold. Personally, I think it's just easier to work it cold - unless, maybe, I was working on really thick metal - say a quarter inch and up, maybe.
