Re: Old work Those costumes crack me up. Is The Monarch also the one known as The Hubby?
The knitting (it is knitting, isn't it? I'm not very up on the fiber arts) is very cute. Somebody is lucky to have you thinking about them!
My daughter was just looking at a book about making the animals in the craft store - it's on her Christmas list, so i see some little critters in the future around here.
And I have to ask - is that an erlenmeyer flask on the piece in the lower right of the bottom picture? I don't believe I've ever heard of anybody knitting an erlenmeyer flask...
Re: Old work Yup, the Monarch is the Hubby. I am actually a little taller than him, but with those heels on I look like a giant next to the little guy!
Good eye. Indeed that is an erlenmeyer flask. I actually found the pattern free online. I'm also doing one with a tractor on it for my dad. People make the weirdest things...
Re: Old work What a good idea! I have to admit that I actually HAVE a dragon pattern that I was thinking about making for my nephew. Hmm...but I better make my own pattern for a contest like this...that will take far too long I think! I'll have to stick with flat media!
Re: Old work I gave my daughter a book on how to crochet little animals like the ones in your picture for her birthday last week. She had seen it at Joanne Fabrics, and thought it looked like a good time (she just turned 15).
She was a bit frustrated trying to learn the hand movements at first, but my wife helped her out, and now she is busy making long strips of crocetted yarn cat toys.
I'm hoping she gets to making the animals soon, but she's having fun...
Re: Old work Texas, there isn't anything you posted that I don't like...lol. The animals are just too cute, and the wash/dish clothes....those are just awesome. I like the one with the grapes on it! Of course...purple is my favorite color!
