Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
Well for me, classes don't end, we just keep going and going. It may well be that a lot of us are having to work second jobs. Gods know I need the extra income, but can't give up any more time than I already have. I'm already sweating next month, because I asked for one day off and now I only have 20 hours worth of shifts for that week. Plus, for us here in FLorida, hurricane season starts next month. While predictions thus far are for an average season, if I recall the last time they said that, we got walloped. Besides, if we're here all the time, how would we be creating new stuff?

Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
I'll end up logging on, then something happens and I've only read a post or two. I haven't had time to make anything lately with all the farm work. Well, I guess I'm making lots of cheese and "making" vegetables! But nothing more artistic than that.
I'm officially off full time farm duty starting on June 1st. As much as I love that place, it will be nice to sleep past 6:30 every once in awhile!
I'm actually knitting something at the farm. A completely boring ans simple baby bib. But I'll take pictures and post them.
Oh, and I have my fairy piece completely planned. Just need the time to get it started!

Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
I can't promise a lot of activity here for this coming month. My oldest is due for a visit in June, and I'm still working through an arduous life drawing class that have proven thus far demanding enough to deprive me of many hours of sleep, and these are just the preliminary assignments. I'm an emotional, overtaxed mess about now.
On the other side, my bachelors buttons and forget me nots are blooming, despite almost a soild week with rain and no sun. The corn int he planters is getting towards a half mature stage... I might actually see something before the summer is over, I hope. Something is chewing on the leaves of most of my plants, though. I haven't seen anything on them, but there are those incriminating holes......

Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
I haven't really been popping in to any of my favorite haunts. Including the garage/shop, where all my fun toys are. Well... most of them, anyway.
Even our store has been put on a back burner, even though the check is made out, already, for the business license - it just sits there. Waiting patiently. This whole year just feels like a do-over.
But! Slowly, things are starting to turn around. We've got a few things finally falling into place. We're starting to get some of the home projects completed and out of the way. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to my old self, fiddlefarting around and making things, soon.
Then I'll be spending more time on the forums, taking breaks actually, and be able to come around here more often.
Reminds me of an old saying...
Patience is a virtue
Possess it if you can
It's seldom found in woman
And never found in man.

I LOVE that saying!
I think I need to get that on a plaque for my parents...

Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
I should have some new stuff on photobucket or somewhere a little after my class is over. This month is madness, and I am running and running to try and do everything. I am also semi worried about the end of the month, based on, say, gunshyness about being in the vicinity of my ex and his buddy. I HATE pretending to be nice, or calm, when I really am not.
Anyhow, I'm coming into the final week or so of life drawing, and the dreaded self portrait ( mine WILL NOT be nude, which is the preferred standard, but not absolute)> I'm kind of horrified at myself in the mirror as it is.. using that image as an artistic creation is sort of irksome to me, but there is no choice in the subject here. Maybe I can muddle through.

Re: Dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
I have to do a full figure, either standing or sitting. It always takes me forever to figure out a stance that I can manage for long enough, or at least retrieve should I have to get up at any point. The teacher did say she prefers us to wear as little clothing as we are comfortable with, in order to see whether we have taken to task anatomy correctly. Personally, I'd be rather embarassed if I had to take a nude of myself in a portfolio for a potential employer. Not to mention, with my teen son visiting, I'm not standing around naked. I'll figure something out. I'm kicking around other elements to throw in as well, though she complained my other single body part anatomy drawings had too much background going on. I was trying to make more of a composition rather than making my own copies of someone else's medical school drawings.
