Show off your workspace!

OK, the truth will come out!

Are you the compulsively neat kind of artist who keeps everything nice and tidy so you can lay hands on exactly what you need when you need it, or are you the kind of artist who works in a frantic spasm of inspiration and throws tools your tools round because you just don't want to stop long enough to put them in order?

Here's my space - this is what it looks like when I'm working. But I clean up and put everything away every day when I'm done for the night:

The cats taught me how to be tidy. Anything that gets left out gets peed on... The school of hard knocks is a tough school, but an effective one emoticon .

Here's the best picture I have.

Heh. It's under construction, but eventually, this will be my artroom again. Under that frightening blue paint, there are cream city bricks, used to be the front of the house. It's going to have a glass door on the room thought. Although my cats don't pee on stuff, they occasionally hack a hairball up on it, which does rather ruin a painting. emoticon

That'll be a nice, big space when it's ready - one of my dreams is to build a little shack out back to serve as a studio.

No electricity, but I can work around that...

It's really useful to have a place specifically for working...

Sigh. I've lost the cable for my phone (which is also a camera...). Actually, I'm pretty sure I know where it is, but it'll be a few days before I get it back!

Hmmm...luckily my kitty stays out of the studio. It took quite a while to teach the dog that yarn wasn't a toy though. Good thing she liked the crummy acrylic stuff the best...

Ah...

My wife tried weaving once - but the cats talked her out of it...

I wish I had a space just for my artistic endeavours. Right now, if I do anything that's not computer art, it's done where-ever I can find a clear spot to spread out.

When I start beading, it will probably be done here at my desk. I'll move the laptop and have the bulk of the desk as a work table.

My dream is to one day have a shed outside with windows and such. DH and I have already figured out how to do what we want....one side would be to store the lawnmower and stuff in, the other side would be for my crafting.....of both types (artistic and magical). There would be a door for his side and one for my side. No electricity, but where we want to put it, it's not far from and outside outlet and I could easily run an extension cord in for a fan or heater. One day..maybe (goes into a dreamy glazed look)

LOL...my poor DH never runs out of things to do. He hates being idle. And, right now, he is having to deal with the housework as well as his job emoticon . I hate when that happens, but not a lot I can do about it. Anyway.....I'm just happy that I have my desk at least to use as a place to get creative emoticon

Are you guys ready to be blown away and green with envy @ where I do my work? are you? .....ok, if you say so...

TA-DAAA!!!! ....that's it. In the tiny corner behind my bedroom door. I just hate it when someone tries to open it while I'm doing something, though! lol! And yes, the "work in progress" is technically sitting on top of an easel, just....not in the conventional sense! emoticon I told you I'm not a conventional artist!

Oh, that's cool! I love what you're doing with your door there!

Currently I'm drawing (pen & ink) and painting with watercolors. The only place I have room to do it is on the dining room table, but as soon as I try to make a delicate pen line, some waterbuffalo comes prancing through on the way to the bathroom and my lines get all jaggedy. I know what you mean by hating interruptions...
