Section Description
The title for this section comes from the title to a 1974 record album by Leonard Cohen. Check it out. Cohen is magnificent!
Ahhh... anyway...
Many pagans draw their inspiration from the art of the past, and bring ancient patterns and styles into present works.
Some people may argue that this doesn't result in original works, but the reworking of ancient motifs has been a fundamental of design since art was first made.
However, I think that art of this type must be judged by a criteria slightly different from that which is applied to contemporary work, hence it gets it's own section.
Making judgements about what goes in this section is going to be highly subjective. How much can you take from tradition, and still be contemporary? Hopefully, the artist or craftsperson will be the best judge of that. If you feel you are working within a classic tradition, post it here.
If the dividing line is unclear, use your best judgement. If I think it would be better placed somewhere else, I'll move it, just to make it easier for interested parties to locate.
Don't worry. Relax!
Please remember that this is the section where people show off their work, not where they put it for hard core critiquing - that's what the Harpy's Lair is for. Gentle suggestions are fine, but do be nice!
