Re: Hubby's blood, sweat and tears went into this... Ah, the elusive pepsi can faerie. Very seldom seen specimen - you even caught him shooting the peace sign!
Re: Hubby's blood, sweat and tears went into this... he doesn't know who Warhol is lol. he wouldnt recognize a warhol piece if it bit him in the butt XD. Comin to think about it he can't really recognize any of the greats, he's not much into art or art history... well any history lol. His typical art style is tagging and some graff-art. I keep trying to tell him to try some graff-art for the contests but he keeps tellin me he'll leave the art competitions to the artist of the family =)
Re: Hubby's blood, sweat and tears went into this... Ooo! Tell him to check out Banksy: http://www.banksy.co.uk/
My all time favorite Banksy was the fake cave painting:
quote:
In 2005, Banksy successfully sneaked a piece of fake rock-art into the Romano-British galleries of the British Museum. It showed a prehistoric hunter with a supermarket trolley, described in the authentic-looking accompanying signage as thought to show “early man venturing towards the out-of-town hunting grounds” in the “Post-Catatonic era.” In this case, it was only a posting on Banksy’s own website that finally brought it to the attention of Museum officials who, to their credit, accessioned the piece into their permanent collection; and, in a delightful irony, it has since been on display in other venues with an accompanying notice saying “on loan from the British Museum.”
Re: Hubby's blood, sweat and tears went into this... LOL - that's hillarious!
It reminds me the comedian, Martin Mull. When he was a student in art school, he hung his own exibit in the bathroom of one of the New York museums (can't remember which one).
