My turn for newness
Hello, small and mighty force of this forum!
I have followed the link here and I will try my best to stop in and post.
So... I am a veterinary assistant (animal nurse). I have a BA in Fine Arts and Psychology. I am going back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician.
I am married, have two house rabbits, 5 aquatic frogs and an aquarium with tropical fish.
I am inspired by animals fanciful, spiritual, actual, however you would like them. Nature is my release but animals are my focus for my artwork generally.
My main art loves are stained glass and colored pencils. I also dabble in watercolor pencils, polymer clay, bead sculpture, pastels, and a few others. I doodle constantly, much to the dismay of my husband (when I doodle on his stuff and then I get in trouble). The hubby is an artist too so he understands to a point.
I am slowly working on an Etsy shop (open but no items posted yet). My husband and I have been selling our stained glass and other misc. art for the past couple years at craft fairs and at the local Medieval festival.
I have been known to go idle on forums when things get busy in my real life. What? Life outside the internet!? *GASP* (just kidding)
I am in danger of making this way too long to read so I'll stop for now. I am too tired to figure out posting yet...or my avatar.
Be well all.

Re: My turn for newness
Well howdy, there, ForrestDragon!
Thanks for joining up! I look foreward tro seeing your work!
I'm also interested to hear how the Etsy thing works out. I've been thinking about starting an Etsy shop of my own, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Keep us posted!
And critters! What would life be without critters! At my house we have a tribe of cats, a dog, a rather large iguanna, assorted ducks, and a couple of peafowl. Not to mention the animals that come and go in various glass jars and tanks...
By the way - were you born with a tail? I ask everybody this because:
quote: When I was throwing togethe... Er... (cough, cough)... carefully planning this forum out, I (as I'm sure you can imagine), did a great deal of research.
One of the interesting things I discovered was that, according to research done by the PEW Foundation in 1998 (that's the foundation started by Blind Pew, of Treasure Island, not to be confused with the PEW Charitable Trust that gets a plug on National Public Radio's All Things Considered), the No. 1 question that people wonder when they meet a person for the first time - but never ask - is:
"Whoa. Was this dude born with a tail or what?"
So, in my continuing effort to leave no unasked question unanswered, I ask everybody if they were born with a tail.

Re: My turn for newness
Well, my human body was not born with a tail as far as I am aware.
All of my spiritual critters have tails. My dragon persona (if you will) definately has a tail.
Perhaps I have a spiritual tail?

Re: My turn for newness
My frogs do sing at night sometimes. The four African clawed frogs live together. There is one male and three females. In the summer they seem to sing more.
The other frog is an African dwarf frog. He is tiny and lives by himself since he would be eaten by the big frogs. He sings also. I call him "Bug" because he sounds like one when he does sing. I think it's really cute.

Welcome.
Be sure to post pics of some of your work. I am glad to see someone else who plays with glass.

Re: My turn for newness
I'm working on the posting thing. I am mostly working on my laptop and all of my pics are loaded on the desktop. My husband is better with the file sharing stuff.
I'll have to pester him to get those files on the laptop.
And yes...I plan on contributing to the dragon contest!

Re: My turn for newness
Hi and welcome, ForestDragon....dragons, one of my most loved creatures!!!
I am with you on the tail....my human body doesn't have one, but I think I may have a tail in here somewhere...even though I know I have wings (as in the Fae). I can't wait to see your art work.
--- Blessed Be,
