posticon Negative Karma

Hi All --

I just noticed that I have gathered quite a bit of negative Karma.

Please let me know what is up as my purpose on this board is not to generate negative Karma. I respond well to constructive criticism - but I need to know what it is...

On the other hand, I can imagine one person in particular replying negatively to my posts as sometimes I will be quite challenging....

If there is a problem that people are having, I want to know. If it is an individual, then let him (her?) let me know.

Please no private messages on this topic. My posts are public, thus I would appreciate public responses.

Thanks

Who cares about the karma? Not everybody is always going to agree with what you write. Or some of your ideas may really force people to think about themselves, it makes them uncomfortable so they "retaliate" with a click. So what? If you feel you have something worthwhile to contribute and do your best in trying to convey it, that's the real benefit you bring to the threads, regardless of subjective impressions positive or negative.

I just gave a positive & will do so whenever I can. "This is war Pea****" (Clue, 1985)
I've also gotten a couple of negs & am nice to everyone; I just don't take anything too personally.

Editing birds now! What's next?

I appreciate the comments. Believe me I do not take criticism personally I am also comfortable expressing my opinions and experiences regardless.

Having said that, I do suspect a certain member ****9 is responsible, however I have often grown and benefited from constructive comments. Not that I always follow through, but it is helpful in developing my personal communication style.

I am not thinned skinned, so I ask just in case others than 9 are giving the negative feedback.

I can disable the Negative Karma so only Positive Karma can be given if it becomes a problem. Keep me posted!

Re: Negative Karma

Before there was this forum there was the Breast Freedom Forum, which deteriorated very badly and eventually went out of business. In particular, it became dominated by a couple who expressed a lot of hostility to those who disagreed with their narrow ethnocentric prejudices. One of them (the male) called me a "warped old man." He also told another poster that if he were in a combat unit with him, he would kill him for the good of the rest of the troops. I tried to ignore personal attacks or respond with sarcasm, but the negative vibes drove too many constructive contributors, probably expecially women, away, and the forum died. This forum, even with its occasional glitches, is far superior. I don't how many flamers have been chased away, if any, but there have been remarkably few of them.

Re: Negative Karma

I do not think the negative karma is a problem - - - what is a problem for me is that if a person is not behaving appropriately on the board, getting allot of negative karma and constructive feedback, but still behaving immaturely on this adult board AND the administrator ignores the problem.

I made the post I made as I am open to hearing constructive criticism as to my participation. I want to be a positive contributor. The negative karma indicated to me one of two things: either I needed some constructive criticism to improve my contributions OR which I now suspect to be true Mike04 has been retaliating against me as I have been very forthright toward his inappropriate and destructive posts.

I want the negative karma to stay as it is a constructive feedback tool -- if the new administrators are going to exercise more control -- do so toward those who destroy the board and ignore the constructive feedback they receive.

I am also sending a pm to the admin.
