Help Me With My Reflection Women's and Men's Perspective and Mikie

I am reflecting on my problems with Mikie -- I hope this part of a post I just made is not too long for you to read.

I want to know your thoughts to my reflections.

I agree with the man who commented that this board ought to pay particular attention to what the women want. It appears that few women like Mikie -- yet there is not a strong desire to ban Mikie. I want to respect that!

I am reflective -- are women more tolerant of stuff than men? Are the different perspectives a male female thing?

Frankly, I am doing alot of soul searching (something Mikie does not want to do) as to why my perception that for the good of the community that Mikie should be banned is not more supported by women. Am I trying to be over protective of women? of women who DO NOT NEED a man to protect them? These ponderings concern me.

Mikie is harmless - yet his attitude on this board reminds me of a 20 something fully clothed guy who stumbled on a nude beach I was at with my wife recently. He just stayed there and starred at the nakied people. Most ignored him, finally a few guys went up to him and told him his starring was not appreciated.

Why did no women tell him this? Like this clothed starring guy at the nude beach -- Mikie does not know what it is to be naked in public, yet he has lots of ideas about how things should be. I am like one of those guys who told this clothed starring guy to get lost.

At nude beaches you always have some guys there to see naked women, but most of the time they themselves are nude and try not to stare. I'd feel better if Mikie could also tell us about the fun he has being nude in public, or going to the beach with a real woman and for her to be topless with him being topless.

No, all Mikie can do is imagine how things should be, and be confrontational. Why is it that generally the men do not like his behavior? Are we over protective. Is he an insult to our sex?

i think we can learn something from the ladies. i agree with you that mike should be banned, but i'm tired of the whole situation. we should just ignore his annoying posts, and read his sensible posts. so what if we have to scroll through several quotes. it's when people argue back at mike that the thread gets off topic. i think mike likes to argue, which he can't do if there's no one to argue with.

Just one opinion here ... women tend to me more community-minded and inclusive than men. It's likely biological: when you look at kindergarteners at recess, it's the girls who are playing together and the boys running around and beating up on each other. So women hesitate to try to exclude from the community, whereas men seem to think deviance from what they think the way things should be is to be suppressed or excised, to conform to their views. This observation of course is a generality.

Its very true that when you go to evict the cave bear, it's a really good idea to have everyone on the same page.

I see nothing compelling at all about this argument. You certainly haven't convinced me that it reflects reality.

This post is non-political. I somewhat disagree with you again. Observing boys and girls even alittle bit, or recalling our own experiences, show clear differences.

Boys are less emotionally involved with each other's lives, but they are very invested in the pecking order. Hence there is competition for dominance, and the associated punching and so on. Usually it doesn't reach the point of real beating up on others.

Girls tend to bond together in cliques and be very close within the clique. I have certainly seen a lot of nasty exclusion of "unpopular" or scapegoated girls from cliques, which can cause a lot of psychological pain that can stay with girls for a long time.

Boys are not all snips and snails and puppy dog tails, and girls are not all sugar and spice and everything nice.

I think we should keep our options open. The rest of the board may not consider him a nuisance currently and they may not feel that he has broken any of the rules of the board, but that doesn't mean that he won't (repeatedly, due to his nature.).
