Women wear them here in the winter, for formal occasions its usually long underwear, cotton (or silk) slip, wool skirt, full length wool overcoat. When its -40 out people tend to wear a lot of layers of clothes.

i have never ever worn a slip...and never will..my mom did wear slips..but that was a whole different generation...now women want to show off their body...and not worried about panty/thong lines....i know the sexy look is in...and if you wear a slip??? it just shows how conservative you are...

Slips went out a long time ago, panties are on their way out, now bra's need to quickly follow. We need to be able to be ourselves and show as little or as much as we like without worrying about it.

i do feel the same way...if i wear anything its a thong...maybe a couple times a week and no bra....we should feel like we don't have to cover up our assets..

Shouldn't be for short skirts, it's a matter of hygeine and comfort for me especially without any pubic hair between you and whatever you're sitting on. In addition, I certainly would not want to sit bare genitals somewhere where another woman might have sat her bare genitals.

It's not a matter of that. it's a matter of public health. If your skirt gets under you that's fine (although you might have some pretty high dry cleaning bills) but otherwise I would hope other women are respectful enough to have that area covered when they sit in public areas.

i do keep myself very clean....and i have seen some women that have hygene problems that wear panties...and women having their periods..there are germs everywhere ..

Maybe so, but those situations don't relieve us of our responsibilities to create an as hygienic as possible environment for others, best accomplished by wearing panties anytime your skirt doesn't cover down there.

As long as a woman is clean I see no problem.After all I rather like having my mouth down there so sitting on a seat where a naked vagina has been would not phase me in the slightest.Are we to sensure a person for rubbing her sweaty breast inadvertantly against a pole for hanging onto on a train.Anyway a persons mouth carries more germs I'm sure than the average vagina.

I rather don't like having my mouth down there, and I'd rather not sit my skirts, especially the nice ones, where an uncovered vagina has been. Or, say, place my hand there.
Getting jostled in the subway and swiping the side of your breast inadvertantly on a pole others will touch is one thing. Not inadvertantly having your vagina on a seat other people sit and place other things is entirely preventable.
I've also heard that there are fewer germs in a dog's mouth than a human's. Perhaps your girlfriend has one and I'm sure she is very fond of it and likes to see you display similar feelings towards her lovable canine. Using your logic, maybe next time you see your girlfriend in order to be more hygienic and to show affection for her you should kiss her dog rather than her.
