Why can't bras look natural
I strongly prefer the braless look, but part of it is that most women look terrible in their bras. I think the problem is that bras aren't designed to follow the natural contours of the breasts. Instead, breasts are packed into stiff cups that provide a totally artificial form. This is especially true of the pushup types. Why can't bras actually fit the breasts? Sagging is natural, and even looks attractive. I've never seen a bra that looks anything like the breasts that are inside it. Why do women put up with it?
Why not first make a custom mold of the breasts (the mold could be used for years), then create the bras using the mold? They could even be made of latex, then lined with fabric for comfort. That would keep the breasts from bouncing and drooping, but would give a fully natural look and feel (including the nipples if desired).

Re: Why can't bras look natural
Besides this being terribly expensive ... I don't get the point. Women wear bras for three reasons, comfort, to make their busts more prominent in some fashion, and/or to shape their breasts in a way that is publicly acceptable under clothing (i.e., no nipple outline, etc.). I don't understand how this ideas helps in these ways. On the first point, having a bra shaped like your boobs doesn't position them any differently, so whatever the discomfort it remains. On the second, that's why a bra gets them not shaped in a natural contour, becasue the natural placement does not create the emphasis desired. On the third, it deliberately retains the shape and contours that seem objectionable. So please explain where the advantage is?

Re: Why can't bras look natural
Buzzcut has a point. A lot of bras are ugly. I wore a padded bra until I went to college. I was dating a guy who told me that my bra looked awful (he was right, it made me look like I had two lemons on my chest). He took it off me, and I haven't worn one since. Good riddance. The bra commercials try to convince you how sexy you look in them. Get real. I never heard a guy say, "I love your bra - please leave it on."

Re: Why can't bras look natural
The history channel had a segment some time ago on the history of undergarments. They claimed the modern bra was invented by a couple women in what surprised me was for smaller breasted women. Their idea was to reshape smaller breasts by pushing them up and out to make them more promenant. Their goal wasn't about support and certainly not about looking natural.
Personally, I can understand a woman wearing a bra for support, but I don't relate to the above fashion idea. I think it's the natural curves of a woman that distinguish them from men. I prefer clothing that emphasizes these curves rather than trying to flatten or move them around. I don't get the newer fashion of women wearing jeans that are really tight across the hips and butt and loose at the waist either. They look very uncomfortable for one thing.

Re: Why can't bras look natural
Another show I watched at some stage featured a woman who fitted bras for a living. She said that around 80% of the women who come in for a fitting have never actually had a proper fitting before, and were wearing the wrong size bra. That would explain a lot of women feeling that they are uncomfortable things to wear! I can't see (and my wife wholeheartedly agrees) that ANY bra could actually be described as 'comfortable'. She says some are just less uncomfortable than others!

Re: Why can't bras look natural
Brook Shields is currently part of an ad campaign for a new VW minivan. Take a look at the bra she has on under the blouse. It makes her breasts look very strange. Granted she is small chested, but the bra makes it look worse.
