Cousin's progression into a thong
A few weeks ago my 26 year old cousin from Chicago came to visit me and my sister in Miami Beach. I have not seen my cousin in three years and generally speaking, she is a pretty cool girl. She broke-up with her bf a month ago and wanted to party in SOBE.
My cousin is basically a conservative girl from the midwest and I was'nt sure how much fun she would have with me and my sister.
Picking her up from the airport I thought it was going to be a long week when she asked if girls really do take-off their tops and wear thongs on the beach. When I said it was pretty common and that me and Ariel do it all the time, she said, "OMG, you guys turned into little whores."
The next day we planned on going to beach and it was going to be interesting what my cousin was going to wear. When she came out of the bathroom she had on spandex boy shorts and a bikini top I normally wear to workout in. I thought oh well, it's her choice. I a wore Wickedweasel 455's in satin sheer black, which is my new favorite because you can wear it so low in the front and it feels awesome and my sister wore WW 455 in zebra mesh.
When we arrived at the beach I was'nt sure of my cousins response might be when we take-off our cover-ups. Suprisenly my cousin did'nt wear a cover-up, which was suprising because she looked pretty sexy in her boy shorts. When me and my sister did take-off our cover-ups off, she gasped, and said we were little whores.
As time passed on the beach my cousin was asking quite a few questions about our thongs and she also noticed a fair number of girls with no tops on as well. She asked my sister if she felt naked with her butt hanging-out like that? My sister said, "I don't know but it feels pretty cool and I have no tanlines." She then asked if we ever took our tops of and we said, all the time. She then said, why is your top on now? I said, I don't know and my sister and I took off our tops at the same time. My cousin said, "hmmmmm, no tanlines"
When the three of us went in the water my cousin asked if it felt like we were skinny dipping and I said absolutly, but better. When the three of us got furhter from the shore we dared my cousin to take-off her top since nobody could see her anyways. She did and you could tell she liked how it felt not to have nasty fabric around her boobies. As she got closer to shore she put her top back-on. At least it was a start.
On the third day of my cousins visit, my sister and I had to go to class and when we got home we were shocked when we opened the door. My cousin was looking in the mirror wearing one of my microminumus WW's. She asked us if she looked sexy? I said. other than your big white butt, yes. We all laughed and decided to spend the day at the pool where there is less people to tan her butt.
When we arrived at the pool there were a couple of older people there and they seen me and my sister all the time in our g-strings but my cousin was very reluctant and kept her shorts on to the older couple left. When she finally took off her shorts she immediately layed on her belly and she was quite. After a while she told me it feels really nice having the sun back there.
Later that night, after a few homemade mojito's my cousin said she was glad we introduced her to wearing a thong to sunbathe in and wish she wore one sooner. She said they look sexy, feel sexy and all I can think of when I wear one is sex. We toasted our glasses and all laughed. Thats it for now I'am late for class.

Hey, congratulations on converting your cousin. And, congratulations to your cousin on finding out something new about herself. I'm leaving for Miami Tomorrow morning and staying on South Beach for the rest of the week. I can't wait to get down there and see what SoBe is really like!! Thanks for sharing!!

I don't understand the big deal about wearing a thong or why it still needs a discussion board. Thongs are everywhere, except for a very few places where they apparently aren't legal. These days, we all wear thong underwear (or, like me, none at all) and everybody knows it(it's pretty easy to tell), so its natural to wear a thong to the beach. My fiance says that he thinks I am sexier topless and in cutoff shorts, so I sometimes wear them instead of a thong, or over my thong at the beach. I never wear a top at the beach. Never.

Last time I was along the Alabama coast, I was the only one in a thong. Last time I was on the Texas coast, there was me and maybe two or three other women wearing one. My husband was the only guy I saw wearing one both places. However, there are other places on the Gulf Coast where I have seen them more, but never very many, not even 5 percent of the beach population among women. In the aggregate, if go to a beach on the Gulf Coast at random, chances are you won't see anybody wearing one.
When I wear panties it usually is a thong or string. A girlfriend of mine also has a couple of thongs. None of my other girlfriends do and are usually surprised when they discover I do.
You may wish to gather a little more data before making such sweeping statements about the prevalence of thong-wearing. Frankly, your experience is very much at odds with mine.

Andrea, send congrats to your cousin! She shoulc be proud of herself for having the confidence to wear a thong bikini. Here is a beach--Osterman (Hollywood)--in Chicago that is more open-minded where men and women tan wearing thongs and some women also go topless. The south end of the beach is quite popular with gay men, so there are few gawkers, etc.

Carly, I know I am a year late asking you this, but I am not a "thong person", and I very rarely look at this section of the noticeboard. On the beach I either get naked if possible, or I wear a bikini bottom if not. In hot weather I quite often go without underwear entirely, but I can't see what you mean by "it's pretty easy to tell". Why is it pretty easy to tell?

There is a thread about thonging on the beaches of Chicago on the
Thong Wearers Message Board. There are several beaches that are popular with thongers.
