Thong survey
Over the weekend I was wading in the ocean in my g-string and topless and a women in her 30's approached me and asked "what is it like wearing a thong in public." Making sure she was not being sarcastic with me and she had a pretty nice body to be able to wear a thong herself I answered her seriously. Some of the more obvious reason for wearing a thong is an all-over tan and how comfortable they are.
Once I got out of the water I started to think of 10 reasons why I spend so much time wearing thongs/g-strings and to mention the time and money shopping for them. So here is my list in no particular order:
1) all-over tan
2) the sun feels great on my bottom
3) guys and girls look at at me
4) I'am basically naked but is still legal
5) I like looking at girls and guys in thongs
6) I get really horny having my most sensitive body parts exposed to the water, sun
7) I love all the colors, styles and fabrics
8) I like how I look in a g-string
9) Takes very little space in my drawer
10)woke me up sexually when I was 17
I would be interested in other peoples thoughts on this board about thongs/topless and see if you can list 10 reasons.

I can see you like wearing thongs! So do I. My list is only a little different from yours.
1. I like the all-over tan.
2. Warm sun on butt - mmm.
3. As close to naked as possible.
4. I like seeing thongs and would like to provide the same for others who like seeing them. I like being seen.
5. I like the sensual feeling of the string, and I assume some other thongs wearers feel the same way.
6. Thong wearing encourages me to stay fit.
It's great fun when you get a Niiice compliment.

It seems there are two parts to this question: why do we like wearing thongs and why do we like wearing them in public.
I like wearing thongs...
(1) for their comfort (I like the support at the front and I think a thong strap follows the contours of the human anatomy better than any other underwear design at the back); and
(2) for their look (I love girls in thongs and think they suit guys too).
I like wearing them on the beach...
(1) because I enjoy the way they feel;
(2) because I love the warmth of the sun on my skin;
(3) because I can wear as little as possible without being naked; and
(4) because in doing so I enjoy both the freedom and the statement of freedom and the challenge of others' preconceptions.
I too find that wearing thongs is good motivation to stay fit and there's a part of me that is a bit rebellious and enjoys going against 'the norm'. But those aren't reasons WHY I wear them, just additional thoughts about the fact that I do.

I love to wear thongs!! I wear them 5 of 7 days a week. Why do I love them:
1. They give great support for my package. It actually feels like there is a hand gently cradling my penis
2. They feel great. I love the feel of my bare butt rubbing the inside my clothes
3. I look good in them. Vain I know but its true!
3. They feel so good I am hard more.
4. I love the way the strap runs between my legs. It feels good too.
5. They are just so comfortable. Probably the most comfortable thing I have ever worn.
I like the Jockey Thongs. They stretch and give great support everywhere. They are so comfortable that most of the time I can't tell that the strap is running between my legs. Unfortunately, Jockey has discontinued them.
I haven't had the nerve to wear them in public. My wife doesn't even own a pair of thong panties. If she were to wear a thong bikini, I know I would follow suit.

With regards to number 10 this is the reason I started wearing thongs. Sitting all day in boxer or briefs had my boys all bunched up. Then there was the wad of fabric that gets bunched up in between my butt cheeks. All those seams, gussets and panels trying to make room down there. Yikes! I've been wearing thongs for so long thet anymore wearing boxers or briefs feels like I'm a wearing diaper or something.

Okay, fellow board members, I'm going to chime in with my own list. Here's why I like wearing thongs and g-strings, in no particular order:
-- I like how I look in them
-- I enjoy how they feel
-- I enjoy wearing less under pants, etc -- feels nice on my butt
-- I enjoy seeing women in them
-- I don't at all mind seeing other men in them (fight the power, turn the tide, thong boldly!)
-- thongs and g-strings are far cooler and sexier than other underwear/swimwear
-- great posterior framing/shaping
-- unbeatable male support
-- unpredictable responses
