Fiction on Topfreedom or Nudism/Naturism
I would like to start a new thread to collect all fictional works (movies, novels, short stories etc) about topfreedom, nudism and naturism. Please reply with references and a short synopsis of the fictional material you are familiar with ie books you have read, movies you have seen.
What to include:
Any material where:
1. the story is related to topfreedom, nudism and/or naturism.
2. there is a dialog about being topfree or being nude.
3. there is at least a character who is a nudist or topless sunbather.
What to exclude:
1. Pornography
2. Nudity that is not related to practice of nudism or topfreedom. (For example nudity in a sex scene)
3. Non fiction ( I plan to open a seperate thread for non-fictional material like documentaries, travelogues etc.)
I will reply to this thread with my contribution to set an example.

Maslin Beach (Australian Movie 1998)
Synopsis: It's a beautiful day at the beach and the scenery couldn't be more breathtaking, particularly since this is Maslin Beach, the most visited nude beach in Australia. Simon is prepared to ask his girlfriend to marry him on this day, but the chaotic atmosphere of other beachgoers has interrupted... It's a beautiful day at the beach and the scenery couldn't be more breathtaking, particularly since this is Maslin Beach, the most visited nude beach in Australia. Simon is prepared to ask his girlfriend to marry him on this day, but the chaotic atmosphere of other beachgoers has interrupted the clarity of Simon's thought process. As Simon wanders the beach getting up his courage and aligning his mind, he continues to encounter eccentric couples whose behavior could make anyone back out of an engagement. This wild, naked examination of love from down under offers plenty of below the belt humor.

The Cool Cottontail by John Ball (c. 1966)
A novel involving Virgil Tibbs, the Pasadena detective most famous in the movie and novel "In the Heat of the Night". A dead body is found in the swimming pool of a nudist resort in Southern California and Virgil Tibbs is called in to investigate. While Virgil doesn't participate when he is at the resort, he becomes friends with the family that runs it and he sees a similarity in the discrimination nudists face and his people face. A very interesting read.

Acutally, Philadelphia. Or maybe he gets conveniently transferred to California? (Interesting ... this novel seems to have come out prior to "In the Heat of the Night.")
I don't know whether this qualifies, but the romp in the "nudist colony" was central to "A Shot in the Dark" concerning Closeau (Peter Sellers) and his love interest/suspect (Elke Sommer).

Re: Fiction on Topfreedom or Nudism/Naturism
Redheadelizabeth,
In the novels, he works for Pasadena and in the movies, he works for Philadephia and San Francisco.
In the heat of the night (book) came out in 1965, the cool cottontail (book) came out in 1966 and in the heat of the night (movie) came out in 1967.
There were seven novels and three movies starring the character Virgil Tibbs with only the first, in heat of the night, based on one of the books. The other two movies featured entirely new stories.

Re: Fiction on Topfreedom or Nudism/Naturism
This is an easy choice for me...many of the science fiction classics by Robert Heinlein. He was renouned as a practicing naturist, and included casual, non-sexual nudity in his descriptions of how life could evolve in healthy ways in the future.
My favorite selection is "Stranger in a Strange Land" with "Time Enough for Love" as my second best. He was never heavy-handed in his approach to nudity, but always worked it in as a very natural part of daily life. In many ways, Heinlein's perspective on caring and freeing relationships have shaped me as a woman and as a topfree advocate.
Posting in just my yellow bikini bottoms

Re: Fiction on Topfreedom or Nudism/Naturism
I just have to add a quick note...in the neighborhood, Heinlein is required reading. I remember resisting a bit when she gave me "Stranger"...she gave me a raised eyebrow and a sly smile and said, "Trust me...it'll change your life." I did...and it did.
Visiting in CA for the month...loving it that it's 7:45pm here and it's still over 90F!!! And like Jane adds at the end of all her posts, I'm wearing just a small red g-string...loving it!

Dungeons & Dragons
The 1st edition of the rulebooks for Dungeons & Dragons features many topfree illustrations. Unfortunately the topfreedom in more recent editions has been greatly reduced, and what little is left does not show the nipples. Plenty of nipples in the 1st edition.
In Deities and DemiGods (1980):
Tlazolteotl, Aphrodite, Hecate, Elenoin, Lolth, and Kuo-Toa, are depicted topfree
Bast, Isis, Loviatar, and Ushas are wearing clothing which completely exposes the breasts but is not totally topfree
Ishtar, and Xiombarg, are depicted wearing sheer clothing with visible nipples.
In the Monster Manual (1977):
The Succubus, Type V Demon, Erinyes, Harpy, Lamia, GynoSphinx, Sylph are monsters which are depicted with nude breasts resembling those of a human female.
Interestingly the male Merman is shown rather than the elsewhere more commonly depicted female Mermaid.

Movies
While I can think of numerous movies that have nude or topless scenes most of them are either precursors to sex or are for the purposes of male entertainment. Ski School 2 features a nude artist who is a woman that likes to paint in the nude rather than painting nudes.

Re: Fiction on Topfreedom or Nudism/Naturism
there's a scene in the movie starship troopers that i found interesting. it isn't really nudism, but they are in a future version of the army and all the men and women shower together. they are all nude together and carry on a normal conversation, completely non-sexual. makes me wonder if it will actually be like that in the future.
