Lewes Beach, De
Any information about Lewes Beach, De? Any topfreedom? Any possibility of smaller swimwear?

Re: Lewes Beach, De
Lewes is not known as a topfree beach but I have been topfree there in the past (I haven't been to Lewes for a few years mostly because I've found much better places to be topfree). I live in the mid-Atlantic area and the game in Lewes seems to be like so many other beaches around here, mostly just avoiding having someone go to the lifeguard and complain. If you are discreet and nobody complains then they tend to leave you alone. Be aware that there are a lot of children in Lewes. The waves aren't very strong and that attracts parents with kids. I got my topfree time in Lewes by walking south in the direction of the Cape May Ferry. Soon you will come to a point where there are fewer people and few or no children. If you want to be topfree in Lewes my advice is to pick a spot there. I also stayed back a little bit from the water. I laid on my back and sat up at times too, but always kept it discreet. Lewes Beach seemed to empty out perhaps a little earlier in the day than other beaches. That reduces the chance of a complaint too if you are topfree in the late afternoon - late afternoon is a good time. I have seen a few others topfree at Lewes in the area where I've been although not many and all were very discreet. As for smaller swimwear, I don't wear a thong myself but I have seen thongs in Lewes, many more thongs than topfree. Women were wearing them in the water and not having problems. I don't think thongs are a problem in Lewes but again you might want to avoid the area where most of the children are just to be respectful and avoid complaints.
Rehoboth Beach is just a few miles south of Lewes. I've been topfree at Rehoboth at the very south end of the beach. The area where the boardwalk ends down there is popular with gay men. (I think it is Prospect Street at the end of the boardwalk). People are friendly there and don't care. IMHO a better place than Lewes.
