 How to get your picture under your name (AVATAR)
I was asked earlier how did I get my photo under my name.
That little phot is called and "AVATAR" and to get it under your name follow these instructions:
1.Select a photo from your photo collection on your computer that you would like to use.
Remember where it is located because you will need to finds its path later on. Write the path down on paper.
2. You will then need to go to the "Image Shack" http://imageshack.us/
Why do I need to go here I ask you say...well they do all the resizing of the photo so it is nice and small and they also give you a place to store your little "Avatar photos" when you have had them converted.
3. When you get to the Image Shack site you will be required to do the following:
a) Hit the browse button to find the photo you wanted to resize...remember I asked you to write down the path of where your photo was stored...use it now.
b) put in your e-mail address in the space provided.
c) Place a tick in the ReSize Image box
Select, from the dropdown box the following size...100x75 (avatar).
d) Then hit the "Host It" button and wait...
4. when the page has refreshed you will see something that looks like the following...not exactly like the following but close ok...http://img72.image etc etc etc
....You will then need to copy that string and paste it into the following spot (See 5).
5. You will need to get back to the forum page and then up near the top of the page you need to hit "Control panel", and then select "Change Miscellaneous Settings" and then on the very top line where it has "Avatar 60x60 pixels image URL(optional): paste the string into the space provided on the right hand side....go down to the bottom of the page and hit "Save Settings" allow a couple of minutes for the change to take place and all is done.
