Re: TRJC Blast

Guys,

Jeff put this post out here, but he did not add much info. The upcoming Blast is a great time. I know it is not as convenient as 600 acres was, but it is a great opportunity to wheel a variety of trails within a reasonable distance of Iowa City. And like other wheeling venues, the Blast may not survive unless attendance increases. Rob Wagner was at the Safari in May and I think he would agree that it is still a great place to wheel. I know that Rob has a conflict with the Blast calendar, but it would be great to see some other Trail Hogs in Pittsfield. Ed, you rig should be ready. Jeff bought an 07 Rubi unlimited, and he wheels it like he has wheeled all his other rigs. Cory, I am not sure how much of a build you have done but Jef's buddy wheeled his stock Rubi unlimited on a 3+ trail and survived (I think he has added a lift and 36" Swampers for the Blast, but you get the idea). Guys, is Brett still around? Does he still have his Jeep? Christian, you mentioned that your son is ready for wheeling. The Blast is a great family oriented forum to show him what dad andthe Jeep can do. Gas is far and away the largest budget item for the wekend, but it is not a bad price to pay for a great time. Let's show some Trail Hogs support for the TRJC. If you guys show up, I will try and get permission to show up at the MIOBI labor day run.

Hope to see some of you in Pittsfield.

Re: TRJC Blast

Yeah, I've been down for previous Blasts. I'm a former TRJC member actually - I was at the last "Land Of Lincoln" Jeep Jamboree in Pittsfield and joined the following year - went down there for trailbuilders through 2002, hit the Safari for it's inaugural run, etc... Those guys are a great bunch of wheelers. The whole town welcomes jeepers w/ open arms. I had planned to take my son down there this year but ran into some extensive maintenance items on the Jeep which bumped it off the calendar this year. Trying to put together a group for Hannibal Rocks maybe though - probably sometime in August or early September... See my other posts if anyone else is up for it.
