Robins Mud Run Sept 13 08
Yesterday I talked with some guys at the "Wilson Ranch" on North Troy Road in Robins (just north of Cedar Rapids). They have an annual Mud Run - this year it'll be Saturday Sept. 13 starting at 1 pm.
$5 admission for spectators, with food available on-site.
They said anybody could enter any vehicle from stock through super pro - the stock entry fee is less than $50 and includes recovery for when you get stuck in the bog.
They have two tracks:
The bog with mud 5 feet (60 inches) deep - the drop-off is about 160' into the run.
The drag strip is 1/8 mile (or something like that) and it's only a foot deep or so.
They expect about 100 competitors, up to the nitrous-injected monsters on 57" tires.
If I can break away from the Iowa/Iowa State game (a family obligation), I'll try to be there. I'll be in my black 04TJ with the Navy stickers and the hood-mount CB antenna.
