600 acres
the following is from the minutes from the January Iowa association of four wheel drive clubs meeting. Just looking around and found it.
600 Acres issue:
* We discussed the 600 Acres area as a possible point for legislative action.
* It is possible to ask the county over there to co-sponsor us in a lease of the area. Essentially, set up an IA4WDC-run park, using grant money.
* Debated whether or not it would be worth persuing.
* Discussed management issues such as how often we would need to have someone attending the land, making sure everything was OK. Also what other types of vehicles to allow. Bikes? ATVs? Motorcycles?
* There may be more money available if we allow more types of trail use on the land, making a donation more attractive.
* Howie to contact the Corps of Engineers about the area.
