Jane and Hannah
Hi I'm Jane and have been with UpandOver for nearly a year. Hannah, my 2-year-old Beardie, is the first dog I've done agility with, so we're both really new to the sport.
I have owned two Beardies previously, Tess (1990-2005) and Maren (1995 - 2006), both of whom were loveable, well-behaved, reliable dogs. When I lost them both, I regretted never having done more work with them.
Therefore, when Hannah came on the scene I decided to start working her with the aim of doing agility. As a puppy I worked her through the Bronze and Silver KC Good Citizen's tests (she failed her Gold - can't stay still without Mum around!!) , the Primary and Junior Bearded Collie Working Tests and joined UpandOver in January.
So far we've only competed in UK Agility competitions this summer with a few successes - 1st Q in Beginner's Jumping, 1st NQ in Beg Snooker, 3rd NQ in Beg Snooker, 4th Q Beg Steeplechase, 4th NQ in Beg Snooker and a clear round rosette for Beg Steeplechase (5th but it was a small class!) Unfortunately, no successes as yet in the agility classes but Hannah is getting better every time we're competing, so hopefully that won't be too far off.
We are both looking forward to the winter training sessions and are not planning to compete for a while (after next weekend!) in order to build up some consistency of performance for next year when we shall be starting our KC career....
