Anti-Bark collars

Anybody has any experience using them?
Which make/ model??

Got a colleague at work who's got a neighbour complaining ( her Labrador barks in the daytime when he hears noises ). She wants to try an anti-bark collar on him, but do they work??

Never mind the fact that this person's kids make a bloody racket all the time... but the dog barking from time to time oh no!!!!

Re: Anti-Bark collars

hi Sandrine

My sis tried one on her mini schnauzer, but she isn't consistent with the use and thus it has little effect. I find he responds very well to usual methods if you are consistent.

My friend used one of the noise triggering ones (it sprays a water jet if triggered by the bark,) and it worked well - that was a lab too. But she did try it out when she was around first to make sure it didnt upset the dog, and the dog has just formed this habit because her hubby used to immediately go back and let him out if he barked, so he learned to do it for the attention

The thing is I think you need to understand the cause of the barking first - not much point using a collar if the dog barks through fear or insecurity as you will just make it more afraid and insecure IMHO.
